The reason for this identity wasn't something Guilliman just blurted out; it was an answer he had considered for a long time, a premeditated response.
A special Witcher created by Alzur himself.
This identity inherently possessed a certain authority and sense of mission.
Anyway, in that era, almost everyone who knew the truth about Witchers was no longer alive.
When you're out and about, your identity is what you make it.
Guilliman's self-assigned backstory was that Alzur, before his death, had improved upon the flaws of past Witchers and created the most perfect Witcher.
Unfortunately, Alzur died unexpectedly before he could even awaken him.
This also led to him sleeping for several centuries in a special laboratory, only to accidentally awaken last year.
This perfectly explained his uniqueness and why he was a Witcher with no past, appearing suddenly.
As for any special changes that might occur in the future, he could always pin the blame on Alzur.
After all, Alzur was widely recognized as one of the world's powerful and talented high-ranking sorcerers; it wouldn't be surprising for him to do anything.
Unless some powerful being could drag the centuries-dead Alzur from the underworld to confront him, as long as his strength was sufficient and his attitude firm enough, no one could overturn his lie.
This is probably like a beggar claiming his ancestors were once emperors, of royal blood; no one would believe it, and they'd all scoff.
But if you were the world's richest person, or even a super-magnate controlling global power, and suddenly claimed your ancestors were once emperors, descendants of a certain emperor...
Then, you wouldn't even need to explain yourself; perhaps many great scholars would come forward to personally vouch for you and debate on your behalf.
Vesemir was an experienced old Witcher; having lived for centuries, he knew many things didn't need to be delved into, nor should they be.
The most important thing was to do what he needed to do first.
So, he temporarily set aside the suspicious nature of the other party's identity and, after a few seconds of thought, said to Guilliman:
"Thank you for your enthusiasm, young man... er, Guilliman."
"Actually, we came to Vizima to track down a group of despicable bandits."
"They stole some very important things from our Wolf School, and we must find them."
Protecting the secrets of Witchers from outsiders was a consensus among the various schools.
At least on this point, there was some trust between colleagues.
Vesemir had instinctively called Guilliman 'young man,' but then he thought, if the other party was a first-generation Witcher, wouldn't he be much older than himself?
Looking at his handsome, youthful face, similar in age to Leo, his suspicions about the other's identity grew.
Guilliman, however, didn't mind the suspicious gaze and nodded to Vesemir, saying:
"Tracking bandits?"
"I already know most of the famous gangs in Vizima. Even if there are some I'm unsure of, I can ask Captain Vincent of the City Guard."
"Vesemir, do these bandits have any particular characteristics? Or do you remember if any of them have unusual appearances?"
He already had a guess in his heart: only the Salamandra gang would have the ability to find Kaer Morhen, the Wolf School's fortress, and steal things from a group of Witchers.
He was just a little curious as to why they had acted early, with such an event occurring before Geralt had even appeared.
Even without the support of the Order of the Flaming Rose, the Salamandra gang had still managed to grow strong. It seemed there were other masterminds behind them.
Sure enough, Vesemir quickly described the Salamandra gang's leaders and the distinctive salamander tattoos on their members.
It was indeed these guys who had done the deed.
After hearing these descriptions, Guilliman wasn't one to be a riddler.
