Chapter 21: Fun… Until It Gets a Little Stressful
Yuki and Haruto were standing in front of the doctor's office.
Haruto raised his hand and knocked on the door.
From inside, Dr. Mitsuni's voice was heard.
Dr. Mitsuni:
"Come in~"
Yuki looked at Haruto. Haruto looked back at Yuki and smiled.
Haruto:
"Heh, yeah, Yuki, don't worry. Nothing bad will happen. After all, the doctor will treat you like a normal child—"
He placed his hand on the doorknob and opened the door.
At that moment, he saw the doctor.
Haruto's voice slowly faded, and his smiling face turned into a shocked expression.
Haruto:
"Con—tro—"
Yuki froze in fear.
Dr. Mitsuni was wearing a white mask over his mouth. There were several red stains on the mask, red marks on his gloves, and in his left hand… he was holding a knife.
The knife also had red stains on it.
Dr. Mitsuni spoke in a mysterious tone.
Dr. Mitsuni:
"Hmmm… I was waiting for you, Yuki."
He reached up and removed his mask.
Dr. Mitsuni:
"But before that… would you like to eat some pomegranate?"
Haruto and Yuki stared at him in shock.
Haruto suddenly snapped in anger.
Haruto:
"DOCTOR! YOU JUST SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF THE KID!"
Dr. Mitsuni didn't seem to care at all.
Dr. Mitsuni:
"Hehehe~ You too, maybe?"
Haruto got even angrier. As he spoke, saliva flew everywhere.
Haruto:
"GET OUTTA HERE! I WAS JUST— I MEAN— I WAS JUST SURPRISED, OKAY?!"
He pointed at the doctor, his finger stopping just inches from Dr. Mitsuni's nose.
Yuki, still in shock, sat quietly on a chair.
For some reason, he had a faint smile on his face.
A plate of pomegranates rested on his lap as he watched Haruto angrily scold the doctor… and the doctor completely ignore him.
Meanwhile, Kaito had finished changing clothes in his room.
He stood in front of his bed for a moment, then threw himself onto it.
Kaito:
"Ahh… today was exhausting… anyway."
He turned onto his right side.
Kaito:
"It'd be good to rest until dinner."
Just then—
Knock knock.
The tired smile disappeared from Kaito's face. He frowned irritably and stood up to open the door.
When he opened it, the twins were standing there.
Kaito stared at them coldly, clearly annoyed.
Kaito:
"You two… what is this state you're in?"
The twins smiled awkwardly, trying not to show their guilt.
Shin:
"Uh… well… the bathroom—"
Zen quickly cut in.
Zen:
"Are you ready, Kaito bro?"
Kaito groaned and rubbed his face, thinking for a few seconds.
Kaito:
"Ugh… fine."
Zen added casually:
Zen:
"We went to talk to Sora sister, but she was sleeping."
Shin nodded with a grin.
Shin:
"Hehe, yeah."
Realizing he had no other choice, Kaito sighed.
Kaito:
"Well, I guess taking a bath wouldn't hurt… at least I'll feel better."
He turned around and started walking away.
The twins clasped their hands together.
Shin (scheming):
"Hehehe… he fell right into our plan."
Zen copied him.
Zen:
"Hihi~ yeah, let's see what he does in there."
Suddenly, Kaito turned back.
Kaito:
"HEY! YOU TWO— MOVE IT!"
The twins nodded obediently.
Twins (together):
"Okaaay~"
They started walking, laughing mischievously.
