At this moment, Ray Chu had already arrived at the starting line.
Unlike the last time, he now used Quick Attack.
Wrapped completely in electric sparks, Ray Chu flashed forward, swift and weightless, streaking past the three standing at the finish line.
"Did you record that?"
"I-I did! Seven seconds! That's incredible!" Krillin's mouth hung open, completely dumbfounded.
Master Roshi suddenly felt tremendous pressure—seems I'll have to take this more seriously.
"You all did quite well, but that's merely the level of ordinary martial artists. The core of my Turtle School martial arts is surpassing human limits."
He took off his heavy turtle shell, adjusted his clothes carefully, and loosened up his limbs.
"Krillin, time me."
"Huh? Master, you're going to run too?"
Master Roshi nodded, slowly stepping towards the starting line, looking casual but secretly gathering all his focus.
"Ready—go!"
At his shout, Master Roshi instantly became a blur, moving so fast the air exploded in his wake. A sudden blast of wind tossed the hair of the three spectators straight backward.
His speed was astonishing, and he stopped exactly at the finish line—not an inch further—and turned around calmly, "How many seconds?"
"Oh my…god!" Krillin swallowed nervously, stuttering, "F-Five seconds! Though I think I pressed the button a bit late…"
"Close enough! We'll take five!" Master Roshi stomped lightly, picked up his turtle shell, and turned his back, striking a profound and mysterious pose. "This is what it means to surpass human limits. You youngsters still have potential—as long as you train hard, you'll eventually break this five-second record."
Goku cheered excitedly, "That's awesome!"
Now familiar with everyone's strength, Master Roshi cleared his throat and formally started today's training. He took out a marker, wrote the character "龟" (Turtle) on a stone, and showed it briefly to the three of them.
"Got a good look?"
"Yep!"
"Good! Let's begin!" He suddenly hurled the stone off the cliff, watching it disappear deep into the distant greenery.
"Your next task is to find the stone I just threw. If you don't find it within thirty minutes, you get no dinner tonight." Master Roshi turned around, walking away with his hands behind his back.
Everyone exchanged stunned glances.
"You—you gotta be kidding! There's no way we can find that!" Krillin stared into the lush forest below. Finding a fist-sized rock there was no different from looking for a needle in a haystack.
The next second, Goku leapt straight down the cliffside.
"Idiot! Do you wanna die?!" Krillin screamed, then felt another gust of wind beside him as Ray Chu jumped down as well.
"What… what monsters!" Krillin's mouth twitched; he wasn't confident he'd survive that jump and instead chose to take the long route around.
Ray Chu recalled Master Roshi's throw trajectory and moved quickly through the trees, adeptly leaping from branch to branch, thoroughly familiar with forest travel.
Danger lurked everywhere—wild animals, venomous snakes. Soon, a massive anaconda sized like a tree trunk lunged at Ray Chu. He swiftly jumped aside, releasing a Thunder Shock midair, instantly turning the snake into a charred coil.
Based on the highest point of the throw and my calculations, the stone should have landed around here. Ray Chu continuously flashed through the forest, a test now not just of speed, but endurance and awareness.
Pushing through the thick bushes, Ray Chu's eyes brightened at a stone clearly marked with "龟."
"Ah! Found it!"
At the same instant, Goku's voice echoed from the opposite side.
Both spotted the stone simultaneously. Their eyes met, sparking an electric tension in the air.
Two shadows lunged towards the stone at the same moment, colliding fiercely midair.
Goku, born a battle-loving Saiyan, naturally possessed overwhelming fighting instincts. Raised by Grandpa Gohan, his martial arts fundamentals were rock-solid—far surpassing Ray Chu in pure martial techniques.
But Ray Chu had his unique advantages—his Pokémon moves compensated. With Iron Tail, Brick Break, and Double Kick, he matched Goku blow for blow.
The two figures flipped and rolled midair before separating briefly.
Meanwhile, unnoticed, a small figure lurked in the bushes nearby. Krillin smiled slyly—perfect! Let those two fight, and then he'd swoop in to reap the reward.
"You're super strong," Goku said excitedly, eyes burning with determination, "But I won't lose!"
Ray Chu silently raised a small sign:
[Your pants fell down.]
As Goku glanced downward, Ray Chu flashed behind him and slammed him away with Iron Tail.
Goku spiraled midair towards a large tree, swiftly kicking off the trunk to rebound at even greater speed.
CONFUSION!
Anticipating Goku's move, Ray Chu thrust out both hands, trapping Goku midair in invisible psychic energy.
"W-Whoa…what…?"
Floating helplessly, Goku flailed uselessly, as if swimming in midair.
"Even Goku can't beat him…" From the bushes, Krillin's eyes widened anxiously, nearly burying his shiny bald head entirely beneath the leaves.
Having restrained Goku, Ray Chu turned toward the stone but suddenly heard a shout:
"I haven't lost yet!" Floating without leverage, Goku suddenly pivoted his body, cupping his hands at his side. Golden energy glowed brightly.
"[KA...ME...HA...ME...HAAA]!!"
Ray Chu's expression shifted dramatically as he unleashed Hyper Beam from his mouth at the last instant. The two energy blasts collided spectacularly, triggering a massive explosion.
The forest shuddered with a deafening boom; animals scattered wildly in all directions, and a visible black shockwave swept outward.
In the distance, Master Roshi—who'd been secretly peeking at Launch and Mai from the bushes—jumped in fright. He leaped up a tall tree, observing the distant chaos. After a long pause, he adjusted his sunglasses, murmuring, "Are youngsters nowadays always this terrifying?"
Master Roshi stared a bit longer, then hopped down, strolling leisurely toward the house. Clearing his throat, he called out in a perverted tone, "Ladies, I'm back…"
...
Meanwhile, dust cleared from the battlefield, revealing Ray Chu and Goku. Between them lay a smoking crater.
"Huh?!"
They simultaneously turned to the side—only to find the stone had disappeared.
Elsewhere in the forest, Krillin sprinted gleefully, clutching the stone tightly. "Haha, you two idiots! While you were fighting, I, Krillin, got the stone! Dinner is mine!"
A chill ran down his spine, and he instinctively leaped forward as Thunder Shock scorched the earth where he'd just stood.
"They caught up already?!"
Desperate for dinner, Krillin ran on all fours, frantically creating obstacles—cutting rope bridges, provoking dinosaurs—all to slow his pursuers. Finally, at the last possible second, he reached Master Roshi's house.
Just as Krillin reached for the door, paralysis surged through him, and he toppled over with a groan.
Ray Chu calmly picked up the fallen stone, glanced dismissively at Krillin and the approaching Goku, and opened the door.
That night, neither Goku nor Krillin got to eat dinner…
