Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 – With Me Here, Do You Still Want to Hide Your Identity?

Luo Feng caught the throwing knife Jiang Yan tossed back, but his mind was in chaos.

When he killed Pan Ya, he had concealed himself perfectly.

He hadn't left a single trace.

So… how did Jiang Yan know the throwing knife was his?

He was about to deny it and insist the weapon wasn't his—but Jiang Yan's next sentence instantly shattered any thought of pretending.

"I know a bit about the grievances between your Fire Hammer Squad and the Tiger Tooth Squad. I'm acquainted with Gao Feng, your captain."

Jiang Yan smiled.

Before entering the basic training camp, the original Jiang Yan had often visited the Extreme Club in the main city. Gao Feng lived there as well, so the two had met a few times. Acquaintance, yes—friendship, absolutely not.

But that didn't matter. Jiang Yan only needed to lower Luo Feng's guard.

And it worked. Luo Feng's tense nerves loosened at once.

"Those guys from the Tiger Tooth Squad had it coming. I personally kicked them out of the Thunder Squad. Otherwise, how could you have dealt with them so easily? Think of that as me helping you out."

Jiang Yan explained casually.

If you don't say it, no one knows—and all your efforts become invisible.

And invisible effort? That's just pointless suffering.

Hearing this, Luo Feng instantly recalled the moment Jiang Yan glanced at his hiding spot that day.

At the time, he suspected Jiang Yan had noticed him.

Now, Jiang Yan's words confirmed that suspicion.

"Brother Jiang, you helped me take revenge on the Tiger Tooth Squad, and today you saved my life. I really don't know how to thank you!"

Luo Feng bowed deeply, full of sincere gratitude.

"Luo Feng, don't call me senior. I'm only two or three years older than you."

Jiang Yan chuckled. "My name is Jiang Yan. If you don't mind, you can just call me Brother Jiang."

Two or three years older?

Luo Feng stared at him, shocked beyond belief.

This man—whose strength had clearly reached the God of War level—

was only two or three years older than him?!

"B-Brother Jiang… you're really only two or three years older?" Luo Feng asked, unable to believe it.

"If I lie, may thunder strike me. I won't even turn twenty-one until the twenty-fifth of this month."

Lunar December 21st—January 25th, 2057.

Luo Feng sucked in a cold breath.

He really was only a little over two years older.

Which only made it even more terrifying.

A twenty-year-old God of War!

"Luo Feng, there's nothing to be shocked about. When you reach my age, your strength will also reach the God of War level."

Jiang Yan smiled.

"Me?!"

Luo Feng's eyes widened. He didn't dare imagine himself becoming a God of War at twenty.

"You're a spiritual master. When your physical fitness reaches intermediate warrior level, you'll naturally possess the strength of a junior God of War."

That was the spiritual master's advantage.

A spiritual master's actual combat realm was naturally two levels higher than their physical realm—

as long as their spiritual force was solid or semi-liquid like Luo Feng's.

Once their physical body reached intermediate God of War level, the spiritual force in their mind would fully awaken.

After that—at the planetary level—there would no longer be a two-realm gap.

"Intermediate warrior…" Luo Feng murmured, confidence flashing in his eyes. His current physical fitness was already at junior warrior.

But then he looked at Jiang Yan suspiciously.

"Brother Jiang… how do you know that I'm a spiritual master?"

He thought he hid it well. Gao Feng and the others knew, but they had sworn not to reveal it.

Jiang Yan laughed.

"When you become strong enough, you can sense the spiritual force of others. In front of a true powerhouse, it's impossible to hide your identity as a spiritual master."

Of course, his current strength couldn't detect that. Only Hong, Thunder God, or East—the greatest spiritual master—could see it.

But Luo Feng didn't know that.

So it worked.

"This…" Luo Feng's expression grew solemn. He clearly believed Jiang Yan.

He didn't want his identity as a spiritual master exposed.

He wanted time with his parents. Time with family.

Once that identity came out, he'd immediately be recruited into the elite training camp—

and family time would become a luxury.

"Brother Jiang… can I ask you not to reveal that I'm a spiritual master?" Luo Feng asked seriously.

Jiang Yan smiled.

With me here, do you still think you can hide that identity?

There was no way it could be hidden.

But he shook his head gently.

"Luo Feng, hiding your identity as a spiritual master is not a good thing for you."

"Huh?" Luo Feng was puzzled.

Jiang Yan patted his shoulder.

"I know why you're hiding it. You want more time with your parents. Once your identity is exposed, you'll be pulled into the elite training camp and rarely be home, right?"

"…Mm." Luo Feng nodded.

His dream of becoming a warrior was for one purpose—to give his parents a better life and spend more time with them.

"Your intention is good. Filial piety is admirable." Jiang Yan affirmed seriously.

Then his tone deepened:

"But Luo Feng, in this world… strength is everything.

Think about your conflict with the Tiger Tooth Squad.

If you'd been strong enough—

if you'd exposed your identity from the start—

would they have dared to even touch the Fire Hammer Squad?

And as for protecting your family…

that requires strength too.

If monsters invaded Jiangnan Base City tomorrow—

could you protect them with your current strength?

Sure, it's unrealistic for monsters to invade tomorrow.

But who can guarantee they won't someday?

When that day comes…

and you're still too weak…

are you willing to watch the people you love die before you?"

Luo Feng trembled slightly.

Jiang Yan continued:

"So, what you should do now is not hide—but reveal everything.

Let the Extreme Martial Arts Academy value you.

Cultivate you.

Strengthen you.

Only by becoming stronger can you protect your parents and accompany them longer. Understand?"

His voice was calm, but every word struck Luo Feng's heart.

None of it was exaggeration.

All of it was the truth of this era.

On Earth during the Devouring Star era, hiding one's talent was the stupidest thing one could do.

Luo Feng didn't know that.

But Jiang Yan did.

And he had to make Luo Feng understand.

It was good for Luo Feng—

and good for himself.

Because the sooner Luo Feng grew stronger…

the sooner he would head to Kirishima and receive the inheritance.

And Jiang Yan intended to take advantage of that opportunity.
