Chapter 9 - chapter 9: The hope Start to Break

Kami lay on the ground, barely conscious.

His body refused to move.

Between him and the monsters stood his friends.

All of them.

Hands shaking.

Breathing heavy.

Eyes wide with fear.

They had never seen creatures like this before.

The monsters were not just many—

They were stronger than humans.

Bigger.

Faster.

Merciless.

The city had fallen into chaos.

People were hiding inside their homes.

Some were fleeing the city in cars.

Above the sky, helicopters circled endlessly.

Live news broadcasts showed the same horrifying headline everywhere:

"MONSTER ATTACK ON THE CITY."

Suddenly—

Gunfire.

The army arrived.

Military trucks stormed into the school area.

Soldiers opened fire with heavy weapons.

One by one, monsters were blown apart.

For the first time—

The situation turned in favor of Kami and his friends.

Using the opening, Kami's friends rushed forward.

They lifted Kami carefully and dragged him away from the school.

Out of danger.

Out of reach.

Everyone laughed in relief.

"We survived…"

"We actually survived!"

They surrounded Kami.

"Bro, where did you get that kind of power from?"

"And why didn't you tell us anything?!"

Kami smiled weakly—

Before he could answer—

BOOOOOOM!

A deafening explosion shook the ground.

Something massive fell from the spaceship.

The school—

Was erased.

As if a bomb had wiped it off the map.

Fire erupted.

Smoke swallowed the sky.

The place where their school once stood—

Turned into burning ruins.

Kami and his friends stood far enough to survive.

They watched in horror as flames consumed everything.

Then—

Something moved.

From inside the fire.

A monster stepped out.

This one was different.

Much bigger.

As large as a school bus.

Its body resembled a human—

But its head—

Was that of a buffalo.

A Minotaur.

Fear returned instantly.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

Yet—

No one left Kami behind.

"Bus," Kiba shouted suddenly.

"Everyone—on the army bus!"

They ran.

Jumped inside.

The engine roared.

The army unit stationed there—

Had already been wiped out with the school.

The bus was their only escape.

The Minotaur roared.

And chased.

Kiba drove like his life depended on it.

Because it did.

Inside the bus, some of the boys tried first aid on Kami.

Others grabbed the weapons stored inside.

Shooting without training was nearly impossible—

But desperation overpowered fear.

They fired anyway.

Bullets hit the Minotaur.

Did nothing.

Not even a scratch.

After a long chase—

Kiba turned the bus toward the lighthouse road.

It was far from the city.

The road was straight.

Perfect for speed.

Between the city and the lighthouse—

There was an 18-kilometer-long bridge.

"Listen carefully," Kiba shouted.

"When we reach the middle of the bridge—

Throw all the explosives behind us!"

Everyone nodded.

Heartbeats raced.

Halfway across the bridge—

They dropped the crates.

Grenades.

Explosives.

As the Minotaur reached them—

Gunfire.

BOOOOOOM!

The bridge exploded.

Cracks spread violently.

The Minotaur fell—

Straight into the sea.

But the bridge—

Was collapsing.

Kiba slammed the accelerator.

The bus flew forward.

Just one second before total collapse—

They crossed.

The bridge behind them—

Crashed into the ocean.

They stopped at the rocky path near the lighthouse.

Breathing heavily.

Alive.

They climbed out slowly—

And looked back.

No bridge.

No way back.

Then—

Something terrifying.

The Minotaur.

It was climbing.

Not using the road—

But straight up the rocky slope.

It would reach them faster than expected.

Everyone rushed back toward the bus—

To protect Kami.

But—

Kami wasn't there.

He stood alone.

At the top of the lighthouse.

Waiting.

Because he knew—

The monster was after him.

The Minotaur reached the top.

It jumped—

Higher than the lighthouse itself.

With all its power—

It attacked.

Kami raised his sword.

Blocked.

Tried.

But—

It wasn't enough.

The impact shattered everything.

The lighthouse cracked.

The ground shook violently.

Kami lost.

His friends were thrown away by the shockwave.

The Minotaur lifted its weapon—

Ready to kill Kami.

Then—

A flash.

A blur.

Something moved faster than sight.

The Minotaur was hit.

Once.

Twice.

Punches.

Kicks.

Pure speed.

Pure power.

The creature couldn't even react.

And finally—

A single, devastating kick.

The Minotaur's head—

Was torn from its body.

Silence.

The body collapsed.

Dust settled.

Kami and his friends stared in shock.

Someone had saved them.

Again.
