Chapter 18 - King's selection. [4]

When I looked to the side where the sound was coming from, what I saw was a boy. And what did he mean by having business with her? Did he mean the disciple? I didn't know.

Joonghyuk was also looking at him. And just from the boy's face, I could tell that he was also afraid because of Joonghyuk.

"All I want is for you guys to give me that head. Then I will go on my way." The boy spoke.

[Yoo Joonghyuk has verified that the statement is true.]

Joonghyuk was using lie detection, which means what he is saying is true.

"Hey, you."

"Me?"

"Yes, you. Are you also a disciple?" Joonghyuk asked in a serious tone, just like how he always does.

"No. I'm not, I'm not even a renouncer." The boy replied in a tense voice.

[Yoo Joonghyuk has verified the statement is true.]

I expected Joonghyuk to do some insane shit like he always does, but he thought of something for a while and threw the head of the disciple to the boy.

[Yoo Joonghyuk has activated the skill, Eye of Sage (lvl 8).]

I was a bit curious as to what Joonghyuk was seeing, but I couldn't activate my skill because of fatigue. Not even the Character list, because the boy was not a character.

The boy also seemed surprised by the action. Since who would think of Joonghyik to do something like this. Even then, the disciple was provoking Joonghyuk to kill both me and the boy and babbling about knowing the future.

Just when the boy started to walk away. A white spark appeared around him and he fell to the ground. After a while he got back up and walked away.

I knew what he was experiencing. It was the review of probability. He was experiencing the side effects of probability aftermath.

—***—

'Whew. I'm out of the tense situation now… luckily I didn't pass out for that long, or Joonghyuk might have killed me himself for no reason."

Ken was walking down the railway as he looked at the head, who was still babbling a hell ton of nonsense.

"... Han Sooyoung." Just as he spoke, the head immediately stopped speaking.

"What do you think is the hardest thing to do as an author?"

He asked, but the head still wouldn't answer at all. He kept walking with it in silence as he spoke up again.

"That is to think of what is going to happen next moment.

I don't think I look like it, but I'm also an author. And in my opinion, the hardest thing has to be to think about what is about to happen next.

Especially if it is mundane, or not important. You know an ironic thing? The hardest thing to write in a story is mundane details.

Unlike big pictures like plot twist, action, or what not. They take a lot of details… but in my opinion, all they take is execution. Mundane details are on a whole another level.

I guess I have no say in this topic. As I'm still quite a rookie, so I wouldn't know much–"

Putting a stop to his rant, the head finally spoke up. "What is it that you want? No… who are you really?"

Ken was about to start speaking again, but the head stopped him and continued.

"As the first disciple, I can see every detail and position of all renouncers and disciples. But you are just like that other guy… someone who knows all these without being a renouncer or disciple."

Hearing all these, Ken spoke up again.

"Eh. I don't know much about TWSA, but I do know about one thing. ORV." He said in a more lively tone compared to before.

"What is that?" The head responded in a nonchalant tone.

"It is a work of fiction you can't begin to imagine… well, it is actually being serialized even right now… oh right, the manhwa actually, since the novel has long ended. Unfortunately I only read 388 chapters of the novel… I still regret it, the site that would let me read it for free was taken down later on for copyright and what not. Well, ORV is just on a whole another level…"

Hearing from Ken, Sooyoung was going crazy. Since she couldn't make any sense of what he was saying in the first place.

After a while, their talk finally comes to an end. Ken asks her again. "What do you think is the hardest thing to do as an author?"

She stayed silent for a while before saying. "I will think about that."

As the head starts to glow and cracks start to form, Ken says one last thing to it.

"By the way, the most popular ship in the community is Joongdok, but I'm someone who supports Doksoo." After that, he throws the head with full force as it causes a relatively decent explosion from the place he threw it in. Though it was quite far away.

After that, Ken started to head towards Jongno station while humming. Now, all he had to do was prepare. Prepare himself for the King of kingless world arc.

Ken actually liked it, but also not. It has been three years since he had read it, so all he remembers is the boring parts of this arc. Or was it? He couldn't remember clearly. But he could still remember the main points of this arc.

After arriving at Jongno. He calls for someone. Another teenager, in his late teenage years.

The reason Ken called him was because this guy could help him a lot in his body training, since the skill this guy has is to control the gravity of a certain area.

Unluckily, this guy has little to no talent, and is an extra. Ken didn't care. All he knew is that this guy can put up a small area where the intensity of gravity is about three or so times. Which helps Ken a lot with his body training.

Ken still regrets not finding him earlier. Since he only found him a day ago.

—***—

Ken was in the rubbles of Seoul just like he always is, alone. The only difference being that all the kings are in an uproar because everyone is trying to take over the absolute throne.

Ken wasn't that interested, since he knew that the throne would be destroyed and Dokja would get the story of being the king of a kingless world. Which is honestly a broken story, since he can overpower anyone who doesn't have a King story.

It had only been a single day since he had gone to Chungmuro and met the main cast. Lucky for him, he could still access the dokkaebi shop and the body of arachne he had put up was actually sold… which he never expected. Must be the poison that attracted people to buy it.

Ken might be the only king beside Joonghyuk who didn't come to this place without their members.

Ken could see a bit far away, that the main cast, Dokja and the others were bargaining with a woman. The king of beauty.

If he remembers correctly, she literally wanted to employ Dokja with measly 2,000 coins. When he had 900 coins not long after he got transported.

Well, it didn't go that well for her anyway. After seeing all these, Ken started to come down from the building. It was quite big. At least over ten floors.

Ken could hear the mid grade dokkaebi saying things to the incarnations even while he was in the building. He was intentionally being late to come out, because he felt too lazy.

After a while, when he finally comes out, checking the first qualification of a king.

[King's qualification.]

[1: The one worthy of the throne shall be braver than anyone else.

— The ruler's throne doesn't want a weak king. You must have at least a Black flag in order to sit on the throne.]

(Additional qualifications will be revealed shortly after.)

Ken came out and what he saw was basically a war. And he was walking through it like he didn't care. He actually didn't.

Some people did try to attack him. He would just blow their head off with the gun instead. And occasionally picking up flags from the ground if he found any.

When Ken finally arrived at the place everyone was in. He felt that the entire scene was different from what the place should be like.

It was called Dramatization, something that occurs when two constellations that have a history of conflict with each other, collide. Though, Ken didn't really remember this detail.

Ken could see a guy in black jacket saying some random nonsense while a person in front of him was heavily injured by him and Dokja doing something with a weird disk.

Ken remembered it, Dokja would call upon a constellation and kill this guy, then this constellation would want to make Dokja his incarnation and get pushed back by the fourth wall.

Ken kind of hated that scene for some reason. Which is why he picked up a sword from the ground. As this place was full of them.

And before Dokja could call upon the constellation, Sangah tapped his shoulder and pointed towards the man. Who was already dead from a sword being thrown at his chest, as it had somehow struck his heart.
