Chapter 22 - Blessing of Monster God

Hector chuckled, slowly approaching the cage with a perverted expression.

He opened the cage and licked his lips, gazing at Luna lustfully.

"Come on, baby, I swear I'll treat you softly."

But in the next moment, Luna suddenly tossed a handful of glitter powder at his face, intending to blind him.

Hector smiled in surprise. He used [Shadow Stepwork] to evade it. Then he took a few steps back, maintaining his distance from her.

Hector applauded, clearly amused.

"What a performance.''

Luna scowled and stepped out of the cage. She shot demon worshiper with a red mask with a look full of hostility and hatred.

She didn't expect the demon worshiper to evade her blow so easily. Even though she used Hector's glitter powder to attack him, it was still no use.

Reading Hector's movements with calculating eyes, she stepped forward a few paces before lunging at him.

She aimed her rusty knife at Hector's temple with surprising speed. But to Hector, it was painfully slow.

He lightly caught her hand, pulling it back before forcing her to the floor. In amusement, he looked at her hateful expression—yet beautiful to death.

He gently controlled her belligerent chin, then slowly leaned toward her right ear. The scent of faint perfume mixed with a soft feminine fragrance slightly stirred his nose.

"You're pretty beautiful." His gentle, low voice slipped into her right ear, making her tremble.

The next moment, he pulled back and gazed at her tearful and hatred eyes, giggling.

"I appreciate the effort, but it's useless after all."

Hector glanced at the bed nearby and smirked.

"Let's do it… Tonight, we'll make it unforgettable."

He restrained Luna slowly, dragging her toward the bed.

Her face went pale as death. The worst possible scenario was about to unfold.

"N-NO!" Luna screamed, rage and desperation mixing as she struggled to summon her monster. Her body writhed, pouring all her mana into the effort.

The powerful urge stirred something deep inside her.

"DAMN IT! I'D RATHER DIE THAN LET THIS HAPPEN!"

Her eyes burned with fury.

She cursed her weakness.

She cursed her stupidity.

She cursed her pride.

In the blink of an eye, a strange energy began to rise within her. She felt a sudden calm wash over her.

Immediately, Hector felt a chill run down his spine.

He put her on the bed and stepped back quickly, but the uneasy feeling clung to him. He didn't know whether he should feel relieved or afraid.

"S-She… she did it?"

Without a doubt, she had. Hector's heartbeat raced, sweat pouring from the pores on his body.

He lifted his sword, taking a defensive stance, as the monster slowly emerged from nowhere, summoned by Luna.

First, the gigantic hands tore through space, cracking it midair. The right hand lightly gave Luna against the basement wall while the left hand continued to rip open the space.

Soon, an empty void formed, and the hideous monster crawled out, revealing itself in the basement.

Hector shivered as he looked at the creature.

A gigantic, grotesque monster with a twisted head, with four horns emerging from its four eye sockets. The monster giggled, baring long, sharp teeth.

It slowly cracked its neck, relaxing. Each step it took sent a suffocating aura into every corner of the basement.

Not only that, the monster gradually straightened its back, revealing its true height, reaching close to the ceiling.

A gigantic humanoid-shaped monster.

It tilted its head, directing its attention to Hector, chuckling insanely.

Hector swallowed hard.

"Holy fuck! This is bad. Its mana… it's on par with someone who has 6 green-mana cores."

He couldn't understand how Luna, with only two mana cores, could summon such a terrifying creature.

It seemed impossible… Yet, thinking about the impossibility of ability that blessing with God level gave, he wasn't entirely surprised.

"LUNA! IT'S ME! HECTOR!"

However, before he could say anything more, a gravitational force slammed over him, pulling him toward the hideous monster at incredible speed.

Meanwhile, the monster readied a brutal, destructive punch aimed straight at Hector.

Fear gripped him. He flinched and writhed, trying to break free from the gravitational pull, but it was useless.

He looked like a powerless fish on a cutting board, waiting for the chef's knife to come down.

"Damn! I'm going to die if that punch lands."

For sure, he would be a bloody mess if the monster hit him.

Fortunately, just as the monster's gigantic fist was only five centimeters from him, it stopped.

The hideous creature groaned in anger before dissipating.

"I thought I was dead," Hector exhaled, relief flooding through him.

He glanced at his palm, now soaked in sweat and trembling uncontrollably.

"The feeling… right on the verge of death?"

"I-It's you, bastard." Luna groaned and slowly showed her pouty, tearful expression.

Hector slowly looked up and slightly nodded, removing the red mask. He wanted to speak, but the shock from before still held him silent in a momment.

Luna slowly approached him and embraced him tightly. She said nothing, only burying her face in his chest.

Piecing everything together, she understood everything. It turned out that Hector had been toying with her from the beginning

However, when she thought about what he had done to her, she shivered.

Then, she began to sob and groan.

"W-Why?"

"W-Why?"

"Why would you toy with me like that?… Why would you use such a terrifying plan on me?"

Hector smiled weakly and rubbed her head.

"I told you before: I promised you'd use your blessing today."

He added,

"A headstrong girl like you… you also know fear?"

Luna gritted her teeth, clutching Hector tightly and shivering nonstop.

''Y-Yes! I'm already afraid… very, very afraid… I'm weak, I'm a coward. I admit it''

"You're proud of it?"

"I'm not like you." She sniffled.

''Y-You're really really a vicious bastard.''

Hector let out a deep breath. He had made two mistakes.

First, this wasn't a novel where he could use everyone and treat them like NPCs.

They had feelings.

Second, he had underestimated the power of God's blessing. He had poked the fire ant nest when forcing Luna to summon the monster.

This creature was far beyond what he had imagined. The next time, he needed to think carefully.

"I'm sorry, Luna."

Finally, he pulled her into a tight embrace, trying to comfort her fragile heart.
