As the group walked down the forest, Kaito was constantly looking behind his shoulder pissed off because Yuan decided to be a member of his group. They reached a spare area and camp there for the night. As they sat down, they did a review of what happened during the fight with the monster. The blue hair girl said, "if this monster took up to three persons to defeat, then how will happened if we are ambushed?" The others were scared by the idea. "Tch, all of you are weak" Kaito just scoffed as he lean on a tree. Yuan sat silently and tend to his wounds, he removed his shirt to see the severity of the wounds. He was badly bruised at the chest, there were hand marks on his throat but he didn't mind. He took the cut off blankets from his pocket and attached it to his chest like a bandage which literally was just messed up. Ren came to his side, "If you want, I can-" "I don't need your help". Yuan said coldly and finished his makeshift and put his shirt back. Curious, Ren sat down beside him "To be honest, you were pretty strong back there when you fight that monster, where did you learn to fight". Yuan looked at him and said,"observing, I didn't learn I just observe" "oh so it's that. I see" Ren nodded. "Anyways, if you win the money of the hunt, what's the first you want to do with?" "You are asking too much questions" Yuan retorted as he lean on the tree. Ren just smiled, "I'm just curious, you a boy who don't possess magic and is able to fight like that, it makes me raise some questions. Sorry if it bothered you". There was a little tension in the group, constantly looking for danger. Ren went to the group, "I propose to be a watchmen so that the others can rest a bit, how does it sound?" The others nod in approval. The group rested while Ren sat down with his sword on his hand, watching for any threat.
Meanwhile on the streets of Nelver, there were reports of unusual corpse. There were two corpse in a hotel. The neighbors had to call the police officers to look at the case. As the officers went to the crime scene, they discovered something unusual. The two corpse had their fingers cut off and their chest were punctured by a clean stab of the knife. "This….this is the same technique that has been reported in another case last week" officer Yoshi said as he examined the body roughly. "Captain, come and see" said a young officer as he pointed the window. The window frame was slightly burned. "Judging by the scene we are looking, this burn is recent and the reports tell us that the victims weren't fire magic nor thunder magic user" officer Yoshi said. "And at last the victims are innocent civilians, the worst possible theory is that the killer is a terrorist who tries to bring the government's focus on them". After a moment, officer Yoshi led the medical team to examined the corpse, he went outside with the other officer, "the person we are looking for in the database should be either a thunder or fire magic user, the number of wielders are short…."his words trail off as he saw another corpse on an abandoned hallway, this time the chest was stab but the weapon wasn't on the corpse. "What do we have here?" Officer Yoshi said as he clasped his hands, that's when white orbs appeared above his hands and illuminated the hallway as we can fully see the state of the corpse. "Captain, this one isn't like others" the young officer said. "The killer always leaves a clear stab on the chest with the weapon on it, now the weapon is missing" "Captain, do you think he didn't had time and just went away with the knife?" "No" Officer Yoshi bend to the corpse and pointed the slash on the corpse's chest, "if you look clearly, there's an indentation on the chest's stab, it's slightly wobbly than the clean stab we have seen in the victims. Someone took the weapon." Officer Yoshi said sternly. "Then Captain, maybe that person saw the fight and took the weapon after the encounter" "maybe, or they could have just found the dead body. Any of these theories we already have a witness of this crime." Officer Yoshi stood up and took a triangular sized badge off his pocket, he activated the badge and a small white orb came out of the badge. We can hear the voice of another officer from the orb, "Captain Yoshi, what's the call for?" "We need a survey of the street 1045 of Nelver, find me the names of all the persons living here." He ended the transmission and walked out of the hallway. The young officer walked to his side, "Captain, are you sure of what you are doing? There can be at lease 100 residents of this street, is it necessary" he said uncertain by the Captain's order. "From the look of the corpse, finding the witness will be simple" officer Yoshi said certainly. "Uhm sir, how are so sure of that?" "From the look of the corpse, why will someone take a weapon and don't report of a crime?" "It's…because the person needed to sell it back?" "One of the possibilities, only someone who is not a professional and in need of money can definitely take the weapon. Make sure to add some blue orbs all over this street, we should catch any suspicious person" "Yes Captain" the young officer walked to the other officers. Officer Yoshi just looked at the street with a long sigh, "this will be a long night" he said as he dragged his steps to the other officers.
At the forest, Ren was doing the watchmen. He went to Yuan's side thinking of a discussion. Suddenly, he saw a pair of red glowing eyes hiding in the bush watching him with a huge desire to kill. As soon as Ren sensed the danger, he held the handle of his sword. That's when he felt the presence of a hand gripping his shoulders. He tremble slightly as he thought of a way to survive when he heard a voice beside him. "What are you doing there? I thought you were doing watchmen" Kaito said with a scowl as he walked to Ren side. Suddenly the hand's presence and the glowing eyes disappeared. Ren was tensed up and he tried to stand up properly, breathing slowly. "You look like you saw a ghost or something" Kaito said mindlessly. That's when Ren stood up properly and asked with a rough voice "where's Yuan?"
