Kaito was pissed off by the question, "what kind of question is that? Am I his parent or something?" Ren was agitated, "just answer the question damnit!" "I don't know, he surely ran away" "you said the same words back there but something else happened" "so what if he disappeared, if he's killed it's even better he's just an underdog like others" Anger took Ren as he held his collar "You, you are not serious don't you, he save us from the monster" "so you are telling me that what he did was worth appreciating? Please I will have killed the monster alone if I wanted". Before Ren can retort, the nearby grass shuffle. They looked at the grass and saw someone leaning on a tree, Yuan was lying there with blood on his face. As soon as Ren recognizes Yuan, he releases his grip on Kaito and went to Yuan's side. "Hey Yuan, are you hearing me? Please say something" Ren said as he shook Yuan lightly. Yuan looked at his side tiredly and his eyes closed off, Ren carry him to the group. "Please, someone help us". As the group came to the side, they saw the state of Yuan. A brown hair boy came with bandages and clean the wounds of Yuan. "Seriously, why are you wasting this on this plague? These bandages can be useful on someone else than him" Kaito said irritated. The others looked at him in disagreement and didn't answer him. After a few minutes, the brown hair boy finished the bandages "I've tried my best, but if he don't get treated by a healer he won't make it for a few days" he said as he looked at Yuan solemnly. The others were silent as they heard the news. Some were not bothered normally someone had to die, others were sad. Ren was just silent as he didn't try to show his emotions. Exasperated, Kaito just said,"Great, now can we go now? If we wait any longer the beast will come here" "are you serious?! He's not even dead and you are already thinking of leaving him there?" Ren said as he tried to not get angry. "You already know how things work here. When someone dies it's like that, and you just heard that he might not make a few days here so I've considered him dead." Kaito said as a matter of fact. "Can we at least go tomorrow?" Ren asked to the group. To his surprise everyone accepted the idea. Ren sat beside Yuan. He looked over Yuan but remark something. "I know I just like to ask questions but it's on my nature, so you have to deal a bit" Ren said as he struggle to smile. Yuan opened his eyes as he saw Ren, "Why are you smiling at me like that? " even in this state, Yuan still have the struggle to be annoyed. "Nothing, just trying to not bring down the discussion. You know without a healer, you won't make it?" "Yes, I know." Ren looked away, "so tomorrow, we will try to go out of the forest and you will receive treatment , but before that I need to ask you one last question" Ren said with a pain smile. Yuan took a long breathe as he tried to say his next words "what? Another question?….ask me then." At this moment, Ren gave a cold glare at Yuan. "Where's Yuan?" As soon as Yuan heard his words, he was slightly confused and said, "what are you talking about?" He said in confusion. "I give you a last chance, tell me where's Yuan and I will give you a painless death". Agitated, Yuan coughed slightly and said, "your questions goes from weird to weirder" "okay if you don't want to answer, i will just kill you on the spot" Ren held the sheath of his sword, Yuan tried to stand up but he stumble on his feet. "Why are you doing this? Is it because I'm magicless?" Yuan gave a cold glare as he shift away from Ren. "I Will ask you one last time, where's Yuan?!" Ren yelled. This makes the group to come and look at the commotion. Some people came to Ren's side to calm him down, others came to Yuan to help him up. "Why are you doing this Ren? He's still wounded" the blue hair girl as she helped Yuan up. "This is not the real Yuan, he's an impostor" Ren said coldly. There was confusion in the group, nobody understood what was happening. Yuan just looked at him coldly. "I gave you a chance, if you are the real Yuan then tell me, where's the pendant you were wearing " At this instance, "Yuan" was slightly surprised but school his expression "I lost it in the fight" he said, "you lost it, really? Admit you have lost it. From the fight I've seen the hand grip you got on the neck and the ankle but when we found you bloodied, the hand marks disappeared and you just had fresh cut out wounds. So can you explain it to me? " When Ren said it, the others were in thought. Majority saw the hand mark Yuan got in the last fight but there's nothing. The group started distancing themselves from "Yuan". "Yuan" looked at them and started laughing, "You really got me there Ren, if you didn't do that I will have eaten everyone here" As he said it, his pupils were red. Ren held his sword and pointed it to "Yuan". "When did you knew I was the impostor?" "Yuan" said. "I knew it when they started bandaging you." "Too bad then, I have to kill everyone here then." Suddenly, "Yuan" grew claws on his hands and his eyes turned full red, his voice was deep hoarse. As the others were trying to escape, Kaito stood up and held his dagger."another one, really pathetic to take someone's else face. Especially a plague like him. It will be enjoyable to kill you." Kaito grinned as he place his hand on the ground. "Pleasure shared then" "Yuan" said as he gave a devious smirk at Ren and Kaito
