Meanwhile, Eliora kept walking.

She didn't even know where she was headed. She just needed distance from the bond, from him. But deep down she knew the distance could not give her that.

The camp noises faded behind her as she moved deeper into the darker stretch of Elam Hills.

The air grew cooler until the sound of rushing water reached her ears.

She had unknowingly walked into the famous waterfall, and beautiful was an understatement.

She stepped closer, breathing hard. Her heart was still racing from anger, embarrassment and guilt. But beneath all of it, she could still feel the bond pulsing.

She clenched her hands at her sides.

"He burnt him," she whispered to herself.

For the first time since this journey began, she was truly angry at him.

She found a rock and sat on it, wrapping her hands around herself.

She closed her eyes, breathing in. Then she heard footsteps. Her eyes snapped open immediately.
