Eliora sat beside him, adjusting her veil before turning to Maelina.
"So," she said, "what do you want to eat?"
Maelina didn't hesitate.
"Grilled venison, spiced potatoes, flatbread… oh, and that smoked river fish they were selling earlier."
Eliora blinked.
"Okay, you win." She said.
Maelina smirked proudly.
Eliora stood up and dusted her dress.
"Come on then. Let's go get the food together."
Maelina's eyes widened immediately. She didn't move. Instead, she moved her gaze toward Zarek meaningfully.
Eliora followed the look, then asked him, "What are you going to eat?"
Zarek didn't say anything to that. Instead, he said flatly, "You're not going anywhere."
"But we need to eat." Eliora pouted.
"Have you been the one ordering before?" he asked.
"Well… no. Gina was here but she's busy now."
"Then Maelina will go," he said.
Eliora frowned immediately, then reached for his hand and shook it gently.
