The group continued celebrating for a long while before someone finally noticed.
"Wait… where's Master Roshi?"
Krillin looked around, slightly disappointed.
"So, Master didn't watch the match after all?"
Just then, Master Roshi strolled up fashionably late—
Wearing a full suit, hat, and sunglasses.
"Yo! I'm here!"
Chi-Chi lit up.
"Master Roshi! Did you not watch the match earlier?"
He chuckled.
"Of course I did!
I held it in forever just to make it through.
Right after Goku and that amazing old guy finished fighting, I rushed straight to the bathroom!"
Krillin and Chi-Chi both went,
"Ah! So that's what happened!"
"You mean you saw all our matches?"
Master Roshi nodded proudly.
"Every last one! You three were phenomenal!"
Chi-Chi frowned.
"Too bad Goku still lost, though…"
Son Goku said calmly,
"It's not a big deal. I wasn't as strong as him—losing's natural."
Master Roshi burst out laughing.
"That's the spirit! Losing's nothing!
There's always someone stronger out there. Even if you made a splash in this tournament, don't get cocky.
The road of martial arts is anything but smooth—your real training starts now!"
Goku, Krillin, and Chi-Chi all nodded.
"Got it!"
Master Roshi let out a subtle sigh of relief.
He'd gone to great lengths to drive this lesson home.
He patted the 500,000 zeni prize money in his pocket and laughed.
"Alright! To reward you three for doing so well,
let's go hit a restaurant—my treat!"
"Yes!"
"Let's eat!"
From behind, Bulma watched the old man's retreating back and muttered,
"If I remember right… this is the meal where Goku eats forty-something thousand zeni's worth of food and drains the whole prize money.
Not a bad outcome though—better to leave him broke so he doesn't go running off causing trouble."
Thankfully, Goku's appetite today wasn't too monstrous.
He only ate enough for maybe ten people, and the bill was surprisingly manageable.
Bulma figured it was probably because the fight hadn't pushed him to the brink.
Krillin turned to Master Roshi and asked,
"Master, once we go back… are we going to increase our weight training again?
Still delivering milk and farming and stuff?
Or are you gonna teach us actual techniques now?"
Master Roshi shook his head.
"No, no. I don't have much more to teach you.
Starting today, it's time to part ways.
You need to go out into the world and explore."
Krillin blinked.
"Really? That's it?"
"Yes," Master Roshi confirmed.
Chi-Chi looked a bit down.
"Master Roshi, are you really kicking us out now?
I feel like I've still got a long way to go."
He smiled.
"Baby birds don't learn to soar until they leave the nest.
It's the same for you."
Chi-Chi and Krillin both nodded solemnly.
"That makes sense…"
Bulma shrugged.
"What a shame. I was just thinking about moving into Kame House for a while so I could train alongside Goku.
Looks like that won't happen."
Goku looked surprised.
"You were gonna move in with me at Kame House?
Don't you have school?"
Bulma nodded.
"I already studied ahead and passed all my exams.
Got my degree and everything—no need for school anymore."
Goku's eyes widened—
But then it hit him.
'Right… she's a genius.
She probably blitzed through all that stuff ages ago.'
Her IQ must be off the charts.
She is the one who invents the Time Machine in the future, after all.
She's just built different.
Goku nodded.
"I see… then how about coming with me on an adventure?"
Bulma grinned.
"Sounds fun!"
Just then, Master Roshi's eyes darted slyly.
And he suddenly stood up.
"Oh! I just remembered something important!"
Everyone looked over.
"Master, what is it?"
Chi-Chi, Krillin, and Goku all stared at him.
"I noticed during the matches that both Chi-Chi and Krillin used the Kamehameha."
They all nodded.
"Yeah…?"
"Well," Roshi said with a serious look,
"You two didn't quite use it properly. The power output was weak.
So I think it'd be good for you to stay with me a bit longer.
We'll reinforce your fundamentals, and I'll teach you how to control your Ki properly.
If your understanding improves, you might even create your own techniques."
Their eyes sparkled.
"Really?! That's awesome!"
"Then for tonight, let's stay at a hotel," Roshi said, "and head back to Kame House in the morning."
But Bulma raised her hand.
"No need for that. I brought a plane.
Let's all go back tonight."
"What?!"
Everyone turned toward her.
Bulma stepped forward,
"Back up, everyone. I'm activating a capsule."
They all stepped away, making space.
Bulma pressed a button and tossed a Capsule.
Bang!
A massive airplane appeared on the spot.
Bulma led the way.
"Come on. Everyone, hop on!"
Master Roshi inhaled sharply.
He turned to Goku and asked,
"Goku, what exactly does Bulma's family do?
How does she have something like this?!"
Goku shrugged casually.
"Oh, their family owns the Capsule Corporation."
Master Roshi, Chi-Chi, and Krillin all froze in place.
"WHAT?!"
Master Roshi's mouth hung open.
"She's… she's from that family?! She's the heir to the richest company in the world?!"
Krillin's jaw dropped.
"So… Goku's friend is loaded?!"
Chi-Chi looked like her soul had left her body.
"Wait, that's who I'm up against?
How am I supposed to compete with that?!"
