Chapter 35 - The Third Day

On the third day, the war drums began to beat.

Low.

Heavy.

Relentless.

From beyond the ruined horizon, the sound rolled across the battlefield like an approaching storm. Each strike carried intent—ancient, cruel, and vast. The ground trembled faintly beneath Daniel's boots as he stood at the edge of the battlefield, cloak snapping in the wind.

"The demon army," someone muttered.

They were coming.

Moments later, the dust rose.

Then the sky darkened.

The first ranks emerged from the haze—ten thousand demonic beast warriors, their twisted forms surging forward like a living tide. Horned silhouettes, jagged claws, warped armor fused with flesh. Red eyes burned with hunger as the drums quickened.

The battlefield ignited.

Daniel raised a single hand.

"time to show humanity's might," he said loudly, go gang.

The Red Flags Battalion surged forward.

No formation broke. No command was wasted.

Wolves leapt.

Steel fell.

The slaughter began.

At first, Daniel did nothing.

He let his beast slayers loose.

Some fought alone, carving paths through the demonic beasts for battle points. Others moved in pairs or trios, cutting down enemies with brutal efficiency. Spears pierced skulls. Swords cleaved spines. Whips tore bodies apart.

Dust and blood filled the air.

Daniel's goal was simple.

Kill.

Not strategy. Not territory.

Harvest the demonic cores.

Each demonic beast that fell released life essence and demonic cores, and Vorrath drank deeply. Daniel stood still, eyes half-lidded, monitoring the flow as the raging sword devoured power without restraint.

absorb, he commanded silently.

The dragon-wolf ants slept beneath the domain, their massive forms coiled within cocoons' of condensed mana. They needed one more push.

One more boost to awaken.

At Daniel's side stood Eseren, blaze bang bow already drawn, her expression sharp and focused as she watched the battle field.

The wolves worked in perfect coordination.

Those that suffered fatal wounds dissolved into crimson mist and vanished—respawning instantly within the domain to recover before returning once more to the fight.

That single advantage made the difference.

The demonic beasts howled in rage as wolves they had torn apart returned minutes later to rip them open from behind.

The battlefield became a grinding engine of death.

Notification.

Vorrath Upgrade Available :Extraction Level 2 Requirement: 100 Demonic Cores

Daniel didn't hesitate.

"Accept."

Vorrath screamed.

Red blood lightning crawled across the blade as its aura deepened, darkened, evolved. The sword trembled in his grip as its new authority took hold.

This time, Vorruth has upgraded into extraction .

The Cores were no longer simply absorbed.

They were purified.

Refined.

Stripped of corruption and converted into raw, usable power.

Daniel smiled faintly.

The slaughter intensified.

The sounds became overwhelming.

Stabbing.

Slashing.

Piercing.

The crack of bones.

The wet tearing of flesh.

Maria's whip sang through the air, every swing tearing demonic beasts in half. Bodies flew apart as though struck by invisible blades. Blood rained across the field, painting the ground black-red.

The Prince of Death was everywhere.

Prince Aaren's long black-silver spear flashed like a falling star. Each thrust pierced cleanly through skulls, torsos, heart —never slowing, never hesitating. His movements were calm, precise, terrifying. He aims to kill not making them suffer, he was dangerous.

Where he passed, the demonic beasts collapsed in heaps.

The Mayooka brothers fought back-to-back, fire blazing in their eyes as their weapons rose and fell in perfect synchronization.

Aarron and Eerren moved as one, their long flexible spears snapping and coiling through the air like living serpents, impaling enemies before they could react.

The demonic beasts were fast.

But the Red Flags Knights were faster.

Four hours passed.

No retreat.

No rest.

No surrender.

Even the wolves began to show strain.

Heavy breathing.

Blood-matted fur.

Cracked armour.

But they kept fighting.

Because it wasn't in their blood to surrender.

Because they couldn't show fear.

Because the war general Daniel willed it.

Eeseren exhaled slowly and glanced at Daniel.

"They've reached their limit," she said. "I think it's time."

Daniel nodded.

"Mmh."

His voice echoed through every mind connected to him. and ordered through telepathy.

Pull back. and Take a breath. you have all made me proud, and the entire kingdom.

It's time to roast some beasts.

As if choreographed by fate itself, the Red Flags Battalion disengaged. Warriors leapt back onto their wolves backs, and retreating in perfect order, forming ranks far from the front line.

The demonic beasts howled in triumph.

They didn't understand.

Vorrath pulsed violently, red electricity spiraling outward.

Daniel raised his sword.

"It's time."

The air tore open.

A domain portal yawned wide above the battlefield.

And something massive stepped through.

Zenn had grown bigger than before.

What was once merely large was now monstrous.

The Dragon of Death emerged from the domain, black-violet scales gleaming like obsidian. His wings unfurled, blotting out the sky. Dense mana rolled off his body in crushing waves, warping the air around him.

Living in a domain saturated with rich mana.

Feeding endlessly on demonic essence.

Zenn's growth had accelerated beyond expectation.

Eeseren laughed and leapt onto his back, Blaze Bang Bow already in hand.

"Let's have some fun."

Zenn roared.

The sound shattered the battlefield.

A shockwave exploded outward, flattening demonic beasts and carving a massive crater into the earth. Hundreds lost their footing, tumbling screaming into the pit.

Vorrath pulsed wildly.

"Behave yourself," Daniel muttered.

The raging sword calmed.

Daniel laughed.

"Harvest time."

Demonic ogres hurled massive projectiles—spiked boulders, corrupted ballista bolts, chunks of ruined siege weapons.

None of them pierced Zenn's reinforced scales.

The dragon inhaled.

Then exhaled.

Fire of Death.

Black-purple flames poured from his jaws, annihilating entire rows of demonic beasts. Flesh vaporized. Armor melted. Screams died instantly as death swept forward like a living wall.

Eeseren drew her bow.

"Blaze Blast."

The arrow exploded on impact, obliterating demonic artillery positions. Secondary blasts explosions tore through enemy ranks, disorganizing formations and scattering survivors in panic.

Chaos reigned.

Zenn descended like a falling god, crashing its bodily into demonic ogres. His sheer mass hundreds dozens instantly. Claws tore apart anything that survived the impact.

Hour after hour, the slaughter continued.

But the demonic army did not end.

They came in millions.

An endless tide.

At last, the Red Flags Battalion re-joined the fight—rested, energized, eager for more battle points.

Zenn fought on, rising and crashing, fire and fury reshaping the battlefield entirely.

Daniel finally lifted Vorrath.

"Now."

Extraction Level 2 activated.

The sword spun in his grasp, absorbing life essence and cores at terrifying speed, wasting nothing. The battlefield became a massive harvesting ground, energy flowing into Daniel's domain in torrents.

By now—

Over a million had fallen to Zenn and Eseren alone.

Notification.

Dragon-Wolf Ants Ready for Second Boost Available

Daniel smiled.

He summoned vorruth and it flew back into his hand as if magnetic to him, Vorrath. with a thick humming sound.

Entering the domain, he stabbed the sword into the massive chamber where the ants slept in a specific hole meant for vorruth.

Instantly, energy was absorbed.

And supplied in vein like patterns into the cocoons of eggs containing the dragon-wolf eggs in cacoons.

this process Drained energy from vorruth so much that completely that vorruth which was overflowing with mana now dulled, emptied in minutes.

Daniel stared.

"…And to think they absorbed that as if it were nothing."

He smiled wider. he thought to himself, this hunger is just fine for the situation.

Outside, the battlefield burned with screams that sent nightmares into an ordinary persons heart.

Inside the domain , something awakened. A cocoon opened and an ant the size of a hoarse let out a lout screech, and one by one the rest did the same as they hatched from the cocoons, The queen Thraxa also did the same as if to issue instructions of her hunger, now millions of dragon wolf ands did the same,

Daniel let out an evil smile. he then said thraxa tell them that your hungry and need to feed on a lot of meat, Thraxa let out a loud screeching sound.

Daniel started laughing. then said, this war has just began.

And the war was far from over.
