Chapter 37 - Gravial the fifth blade

Pain was no longer something Daniel reacted to.

It had become background noise.

Every breath scraped like broken glass through his lungs. His left eye was swollen shut, blood running freely down his cheek and dripping from his chin. Several ribs were cracked—he felt them shift unnaturally each time he moved—and his right arm no longer responded the way it should.

But Daniel remained standing.

Barely.

The sky above them was fractured with lingering void scars from Volthrex's attacks, black lightning crawling across torn clouds. The demon monarch floated effortlessly, arms crossed, his hellish core radiating overwhelming pressure.

Then—

Notification.

New Blade DetectedGravial — Gravity-Type WeaponUnlock?

Daniel laughed weakly.

Blood bubbled at the corner of his mouth.

"Yes," he rasped.

The air beside him folded inward, space compressing violently as a new sword manifested. Gravial was shorter than Scarlune, broader than Glacier—dark metal etched with concentric sigils that pulsed like a beating heart.

The moment his hand closed around it, Daniel nearly collapsed.

The weight was monstrous.

Not physical mass—

Authority.

Gravity itself bent to the blade.

Enemy strength exceeds baseline parameters.Upgrade Gravial to Level 2?

Daniel's vision blurred.

"Yes."

The sigils flared blinding white.

Alert:Gravial now releases a Gravity Compression Field on contact.

Volthrex laughed loudly, spreading his arms wide.

"More toys?" the demon mocked. "Human, you—"

Daniel moved.

He hurled Gravial.

The world collapsed.

An invisible force slammed into Volthrex mid-laughter, dragging him downward as though the sky itself had grabbed his throat. His eyes widened in shock as his body was yanked violently toward the ground.

"No—!"

He struck the earth like a falling mountain.

BOOM.

The impact pulverized rock into dust, creating a crater layered with shattered stone and jagged debris. Volthrex bounced once, twice, rolling violently before slamming face-first into solid bedrock.

Black blood sprayed from his mouth.

The battlefield froze.

Volthrex coughed, choking as gravity crushed him deeper into the crater. His regeneration flared instinctively, flesh knitting together as he snarled and forced himself upright.

Then he rose back into the air—slowly, shakily.

"…Interesting," he sneered. "So you—" before he could finish his statement, a heavy familiar pressure hit his body,

SLAM.

Gravial struck again.

The compression field detonated.

Volthrex was ripped from the sky once more, smashed into the same crater like a toy thrown by a god. Rocks shattered. Bones cracked audibly.

The Red Flags Battalion stared in disbelief.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Each time Volthrex rose, Gravial answered.

Each time he mocked, gravity humbled him.

By the fourth impact, the laughter sounded forced.

By the sixth—

Embarrassment crept into his eyes.

Daniel didn't stop.

He couldn't stop.

Every swing felt like tearing muscle from bone. His shoulders screamed. His spine burned. One of his legs bent wrong when he landed, a sharp snap echoing through his body.

The bone broke.

Daniel nearly blacked out.

He stood anyway.

Volthrex finally stopped laughing.

His demonic aura flared violently, crimson-black energy erupting outward.

"Enough."

He vanished—

And reappeared directly in front of Daniel, fist already moving.

Daniel raised Vorrath instinctively.

The punch landed.

The shockwave flattened the ground for hundreds of meters.

Daniel was hurled backward, body skipping across broken terrain like a rag doll before crashing into a ridge. His left arm twisted unnaturally.

Broken.

He groaned.

Volthrex descended slowly, dragging a massive weapon from the void.

A Demonic War-Glaive—its blade jagged, etched with abyssal runes that bled darkness. Void lightning crawled along its edge, warping reality wherever it passed.

"My weapon," Volthrex said coldly, "has slain gods."

He swung.

Daniel barely rolled aside as the glaive cleaved through the ground, opening a void fissure that screamed as it closed.

Daniel pushed himself up, coughing blood.

Then he lunged.

Vorrath plunged into Volthrex's abdomen.

The demon laughed loudly.

"NO WEAPON FORGED IN THIS WORLD AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER!"

Then—

His expression changed.

His laughter cut off.

Because Vorrath wasn't striking.

It was drinking.

Mana vanished from Volthrex's core in violent torrents.

"What—?!"

Volthrex grabbed the blade, trying to rip it out.

Daniel didn't let him.

Gravial struck.

Gravity compressed around Volthrex's body, slamming both of them into the crater with bone-shattering force. Daniel felt his remaining ribs snap completely. Something punctured his lung.

He screamed—

And held on.

Volthrex adapted.

Muscles bulged. His form stabilized under the crushing gravity.

"You will pay for this," the demon snarled.

He reached for Vorrath again.

Daniel raised Glacier with his good hand and slammed it down.

"Ice Prison."

Absolute cold erupted, encasing Volthrex in crystalline frost. For most beings, it would have meant instant death.

Volthrex shattered it with brute force.

Cracks raced across his skin.

Scarlune flared as Daniel burned him point-blank.

The flames did nothing.

Daniel's vision darkened.

Then he rushed forward.

He slammed into Volthrex's chest and locked his arms around the demon monarch, pinning his hands in place.

Volthrex roared in fury.

Daniel whispered through his blooded mouth.

"Gravial."

The blade struck them both.

The gravity field collapsed inward, compressing everything.

Bones shattered.

Daniel's back bent unnaturally.

Volthrex screamed.

They punched each other at point-blank range while the heavy gravity was pressing down on them.

Again.

And again.

Daniel's fist cratered the earth behind Volthrex's face.

Volthrex's punch connected with Daniel's face sending force that created a crater behind Daniels back and splitting the earth.

black blood sprayed and so did red blood. instantly drying before touching the ground because of the high temperatures between the two monsters fighting.

Minutes passed they continued to punch each other. sending loud sound waves through out the battle field,

The scene was more brutal than anything they have ever seen in their life .

Volthrex's punches grew weaker.

Daniel's punches did not.

"How—" Volthrex snarled, teeth bared. "How can I lose to a FRAIL WEAK HUMAN LIKE YOU?!"

He thrashed, punching wildly.

"If I die," he screamed, voice cracking, "they will send someone stronger! You're making a grave mistake!"

His form shrank.

Power drained.

Vorrath drank greedily.

Daniel roared and drove Scarlune straight through Volthrex's chest.

The demon monarch burned.

Screamed.

Then fell silent.

Vorrath emptied the core completely.

Daniel tore it free.

The once-glorious demonic core—deep crimson—was now pale.

White, Empty . volthrex had finally died.

Daniel collapsed to his knees, bones broken, body ruined—

But alive.

Unbroken.

Unyielding.

But victorious.

His battalion members were in Awestruck at what just happened but he had trained them to hide their emotions, and they acted as if the turns of event were inevitable. immediately silver and his men came to pick him up.
