Chapter 6 - "Deniz Nur Hakan"

--Nur...? a breath left my lips as I stared at him. His eyes darted over the entirety of the classroom--just then our eyes met, once again. I felt a funny feeling in my stomach--then he made this small awkward smile, it was barely there but... it was there. I quickly looked away.

He introduced himself with a low voice then and made his way through . When his steps halted near me, I glanced up. "Ayse... a murmur he rubs the back of his hair like he did before. "C-Can I sit in that seat?" I gave a look to my right then nodded. He really wasn't doing it on purpose... he had a stutter--and a really bad one at it.

The class then continued. Around twelve, the bell rang as many students left premises for lunch. Though that particular day... I decided to stay. I gazed at the enormous window to my left which served as my vision for seeing the outside world. The sky was painted in a deep, pastel grey.

-"it looks like it will rain"... I murmured a "Yeah" then my widened my eyes and turned--it was non other than Nur. "You scared me"... I choked out. He raised both his palm, "I-I am sorry"... he apologized over and over. Man... I couldn't feel but let out a chuckle. His brows furrowed. He was just so... easy.

"A-Are you making fun of me?" though I only sat back at my chair, "Does it seem like it?" He tilted his head, "Perhaps" I without looking--"Why do you talk like that?" he didn't reply as he seemed caught off by it. He then lowered his head, "I-I... am not sure what you are saying" he wasn't even aware of himself, how sad.

I then reached for his hand and clasped it. He shot me a surprised look. "Let's go outside"... His brows shot up, "But... it is r-rain--"Oh come on"... I murmured and just like that, we were outside the building. The cold air bit into our skin in that instant.

There was just the two of us. We ran a round--the entire time he watched me with a soft smile. We then strode to a near by tree and slumped to the ground. I recoiled my back against the bed-like grass. He too sat beside me. Setting his cardigan on his lap.

"You know you are crazy"... Though without hearing it, I only rolled in a carefree manner, "Wow... you can talk without stuttering too?" then, "It makes me believe that you were faking it the entire time" He let out a low chuckle and slumped to the ground next to me, turning his head to meet me, "R-Really...? you t-think so? I turned my head to him, then nodded with a giggle, Yeah!

He smiled, a rare smile that would show of those two dimples-Nur Hakan and I hung out almost every single day, be it at home or at school. I shared him my secrets, my regrets--the time where I fell the most lowest. He listened, he always did.

When the tables turned, he would silently shun it. I would pout internally, maybe... he just didn't trust me enough to share anything... maybe. Though I would make visits to his manor without letting him know. The manor seemed always empty-as both his parents were on a business trip most of the time. It was huge--just like ours. Filled with elaborate arts and finery.

Usually, I found him in the music room. The door was parted by two guards as I saw him there, Nur, sitting on the chair--facing a grand piano in the center. I quickly made my way in--the door shutting behind me. His head snapped to my direction, A-Ayse... a murmur. I raised both my palms, "Continue whatever you are playing, don't stop for me"... He smiled and turned to the sheet of music. His eyes skimmed over them--then he began to play the a song. His hands moved like magic, he arched his head back slightly, feeling in the music.

I couldn't help but watch in admiration, he was just perfect in every way. When the piece came to an end, I raised my palms and applauded, Bravo...! He tilted his head and did a little bow. "Well... now your turn" I slowed down my applause, "Excuse you... but what...?" He got up and clutched the back of the chair, "You, A-Ayse, y-your t-turn"...

He always did that, lowering his voice when he wanted something. I began to walk forward and slumped to the seat with a shrug, "I don't know... I haven't done this in a long time" Though he only hummed and leaned in closer. He then gripped my fingers, "Well, don't further it longer"... Saying that-Nur guided me all throughout the piece--it was the most beautiful thing.

The mere movement of both our intertwined fingers and the black and white keys being pushed in and out, in and out... At that miniscule... my mind--oh... my mind wandered. My mother's face, her soft voice and her warm hands grazing my hair. While she whispered my name--God... tears welled up at my eyes. Then my father... how could he? after all these times. He was punishing the both of us, neglectful to both of his children. I noticed how cold his eyes were, the same as my beloved brother. At that instant, I gulped my urge to break down. I hadn't even noticed the music ending--but only by the chill pricking at my fingers. He had let go of me.

I recoiled slightly to my chair, gazing at the musical notations written in warm, black ink. "Thinking of something?"... he asked. I looked to my lap, "Yeah"... He nods without a question as if he already knows. "Don't worry, you'll be happier"... My brows furrowed as I then shot a lot to the back. Nur clutched both of his arms behind--he was facing the enormous window to his front which were draped by heavy curtains. A slick of light spilled in.

"What would you do... Nur?" her voice came out. He dropped his eyes. "When you are unwanted by both your parents... she shook her head, "Casted away as a bad luck by your own family"... Her pupils dilated, "What... can you do?" His lips parted, though barely anything came out. She then continued, "W-What can one do? huh?"...

"But...you have to" He choked out with a slight struggle.
