The dawn hit the inky dark sky of Istanbul--As the sun began to rise up, painting the sky in a faint hue of purple. In the Hakan estate, far away from the main room prayed Ayse. She covered herself from head to two in a modest white attire. Facing the east, she raised her hands to her ears. The room was a deeply lit one--with its minimal decor and the warm wool carpeted floor made it the best choice for a prayer room.
Ayse's lips moved in silence, syncing with the soft flicker of the candle's flame as she went into the position of prostration.
Ayse's pov: Allahu Akbar (God's great) I murmured, my nose grazing against the fine wool as I uttered few more words. In that position, my shoulders felt light as if whatever weight I held was taken away. I rose up and finished my prayer, looking to the left--a sense of calmness washed over me.
Oh Allahim... I let my hands shot up to my face, "I am your miserable servant, Ayse, seeking your mercy" Allahim... her voice came out hinted questioning, "How can one be so cruel?" her eyes pressed, "to brush off the lives of thousands of innocents"... she shook her head. How could I live with this? How could I possibly live with a person such as this?
(Mumkun mu?) Is it possible? her voice trailed off.
I looked to the glass-stained window to my right; there were two birds. The same color--looking as if they were lovers. The mere image of the two made my lips curl.
Back in the orphanage, when the laughter's of children rang... Her eyes glinted*
It was the perfect day, sunny, bright. The air seemed to be less restricted when I visited. Children ran around as me and Mrs. Defne sat in the very back on a rustic bench. We watched them all without smile as we conversed. My eyes darted--Then I saw the face of Ahmet, his brows held a slight frown as he made his way to me.
"What is it Ahmetim ?"
I got up--He showed his hands. He held an injured bird, slightly pouting Ahmet murmured something about accidently hurting it.
Ah...
"I remember embracing him, telling him that I will take care of it" I gazed at the window then rose to my feet. I strode to my room--not sparing his chamber which was to the front a glance as I then quickly got ready.
Author's pov:
Dressed in nothing but a simple yet elegant, office black attire Ayse's eyes flickered to the gold embedded mirror on the ceramic wall. Delicate fingers moving quickly as she wrapped her hair with a fine chiffon veil. She damped a few drops of foundation and chose a very light tone of red lipstick which complimented her fair rosy cheeks.
On finishing getting ready--She stepped out. Smelling like a Flowery spring--Ayse quickly strode outside. She then walked downstairs--Her eyes fell to a busy Zehra in the kitchen then her face fell.
Hakan... her lips twitched, he stood there like a mannequin, wearing a crisp white office shirt, hands clutching at his phone as he then turned. Their eyes locked, sapphire ones with a pair of honey orbs. His brows softened, his lips which were moving recently halted as if to take her in.
Nur's pov:
--She looked stunning... Ayse looks away with a slight frown* I murmured something to the phone then tucked it away. My eyes absent-mindedly followed her.
If there was one thing I hated about this marriage...
My mouth parted yet barely anything came out. The attire she wore, and her veil highlighted her face. They clung to her just right. A bitter chuckle tugged at me, gosh... she was my wife, yet I was checking her out, what else can go from here?
She walks to the front table, giving Zehra a quick look.
"I will be back"... she murmured, avoiding my eyes. Just as she went past me--my hands found hers. I then clasped on to it.
Hakan...! she hissed, glancing up at my unreadable face. Zehra's hands hovered over her mouth in shock as she watched Ayse's face turn livid.
"What is it... she struggles to wiggle free* what is it you want? she asked between clenched teeth. I looked down at her with an unbothered expression then gave Zehra glare. She understood and quickly retreated to the background with a bow.
I now turned to her, leaning in as her eyes faltered, feeling the scent of my cologne. I lean in just enough to give her a shiver, "Ayse... we will be going together"
Her mouth parted, "W-What? with you?" her voice sizzled with rage, yet he steps back and ran a hand through his already tousled hair.
"Ayse... please, don't resuscitate, this is just a matter of the public"
So now she sits at the back of the car--Because of he was driving in the front. Nur's eyes went to the rearing view mirror, his brows creased in amusement, she was staring at outside, deliberately to avoid him.
The window abruptly creaked opened halfway as the bright sun spilled in through--blinding her in an instant.
H-Hakan...! her hands shot up to her face as she covered her face from the window. Ayse then glared at him to the front.
"My bad"... a murmur escaped his lips as he then shut the window. Nur suppressed a chuckle, as she gives him a pouty glare.
She notices his eyes lingering on her then feeling her pulse quicken she quickly strips her gaze away from him. "What was that?" a thought washed over her yet shrugging it, she looks off.
------
The black Volpe (The car's name) made its way to the parking lot. As soon as the vehicle halted--Nur steps out--just as his hands grazed against her side of the door, she latched on to it.
Leave... a whisper, his boots clicked as he then backed off. Ayse too stepped out--the breeze taking a single lock of hers. she tucked it in; her eyes went to the front door.
Ayse turned her head as Nur inched in closer, extending his arm as if for her to take it. She watched, questioning, what are you doing...? she watches as he inches in closer.
Take it--he ushered her. She shakes her head* Ayse... do I have to spell out everything for you? her eyes faltered making his brow soften. his voice now came a little gentle.
"It's for the spectacle; you are my wife and is known as that in public, so we have to try to maintain an image for our subordinates and partners"
She gazed at him for a second or two then reluctantly takes his arm, her delicate fingers grazing against him as warmth seeped in through him. Nur's body tensed, his eyes flickered to her, yet she looks away.
He then pulled her in close, her face brushing against his shoulders which earned him a gasp. He lowers his head, voice raspy, "makes it more real"...
Ayse's eyes pressed, her heart raced. her brows held a soft frown. Though she nods as they began to make their way towards the complex.
