Alice's POV
We hung up and I immediately felt guilty for what I'd asked him to do. I spent the next day packing up my things from the corporate apartment and moving back home with Bryan and the twins.
Catherine was thrilled to have us back and she helped me get the twins settled, while Bryan got ready for his dinner with Isabella. He came downstairs at six-thirty wearing a suit that made my heart ache because he looked so handsome.
"You look good," I said, even though it hurt to say it.
"I look like I'm going to my execution," Bryan corrected. "Alice are you sure about this?"
"No," I admitted. "But it's too late to back out now."
Bryan kissed me, and it felt different than usual, more desperate like he was trying to prove something to both of us.
"I love you," he said. "Remember that while I'm gone."
"I love you too," I said. "Just come home to me."
