Alice's POV
I watched Bryan's face change as my words sank in, and I immediately regretted saying them because this wasn't how I wanted to tell him about the baby.
"You're pregnant," Bryan repeated slowly like he was testing how the words sounded. "Alice how is that even possible, we haven't been together in weeks."
"I took a test this morning before I came here," I said pulling the positive test from my purse. "But Bryan, I think it might be wrong because the timing doesn't make sense."
Bryan took the test from me, and stared at it for a long moment before sitting down heavily in his chair.
"When was the last time we," he started then stopped. "Alice when did we last sleep together?"
"Six weeks ago," I admitted. "The night before I found out about the board vote."
"So you're six weeks pregnant," Bryan said doing the math. "That's right before you took the job at Chen & Associates."
