Alice's POV
The pain hit me like a truck and I grabbed onto Bryan's arm so hard I probably left marks but I couldn't help it because something was very wrong, the blood kept coming and the cramping was getting worse by the second.
"We need to get her to a hospital now," Thomas said jumping up and grabbing his phone to call for an ambulance but Bryan was already picking me up and carrying me toward the door.
"No time for an ambulance," Bryan said and his voice was tight with fear. "The hospital is two blocks away, I can get her there faster."
He ran with me in his arms and I could feel every step jarring through my body making the pain worse, I tried to breathe through it like they taught in the birthing classes but nothing was working because this wasn't supposed to happen yet, I was only seven months pregnant and the babies needed more time.
"Stay with me Alice," Bryan kept saying as he ran. "Just stay with me baby, we're almost there."
