Alice's POV
I woke up in a hospital bed for what felt like the hundredth time in my life, the beeping of machines now a familiar sound. Bryan was asleep in the chair next to me, his hand still holding mine even in sleep.
"Hey," I said quietly, my throat dry.
His eyes flew open and he sat up fast, almost knocking over the chair. "You're awake," he said, moving closer to check my face like he was looking for signs of damage. "How do you feel?"
"Tired," I admitted. "What happened?"
"You collapsed at work," Bryan explained, his hand brushing hair off my forehead. "Victoria found you on the floor of your office and called an ambulance, you've been out for six hours."
"The baby," I said immediately, my hand going to my stomach. "Is the baby okay?"
"Babies," a doctor said from the doorway, walking in with a tablet in her hands. She was young, maybe in her thirties, with kind eyes and a gentle smile. "Congratulations Mrs. Hale, you're having twins."
