Chapter 21 - [21] Summoning Charms Mastery and the Sea Otter Surprise

"That's hard to say. The Sorting Ceremony determines the House selection." George grinned mischievously. "Getting through the Sorting Ceremony… might be a bit difficult."

"Yes!" Fred blinked, then changed the subject with a regretful tone, "To get into school, you have to go through the dreaded Sorting Ceremony!"

Lee Jordan said solemnly, "Man, I believe in you. It's just a life-or-death duel. It's definitely not difficult for you."

The three of them were of one mind; one of them left behind a bluffing remark and slipped out of the carriage.

Vizette remained calm. "The Sorting Ceremony... shouldn't be that scary, right?"

"I can't say for sure either," Cho Chang said with a smile. "We should be able to get to school by evening, and then everything will be revealed."

The train left London and sped across the wilderness.

The landscape was sparsely populated, with only herds of cattle and sheep for company alongside the train.

Time flew by until noon, when bright sunlight streamed into the carriage, accompanied by the clattering of handcart wheels in the aisle.

A plump middle-aged woman pushed open the compartment door. "Honey, would you like to buy something to eat? Candy, cakes, snacks, pies... we have everything."

As the middle-aged woman spoke, she took out a variety of snacks to show them off.

When Vizette was at Luna's house, he ate Xenophilius's homemade cookies, made with Gurdyroot and flour, with a strong onion flavor and no other aroma.

Although the meals provided by the orphanage in his previous life were nutritionally balanced, the taste was indescribable, which led him to not have much interest in food; being full was his primary goal.

Faced with a sudden choice, he turned to Cho Chang for help: "Do you have any recommendations? I've never seen any of those snacks before."

"It's a bit hard to choose, each has its own unique features…" Cho Chang frowned and pondered. "If you want to experience the fun of snacks, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, and Chocolate Frog are all pretty good."

The snacks were extremely affordable; Vizette bought several of the snacks that Cho Chang had mentioned, and it only cost him fifteen Knuts.

"This is the most magical place," Vizette exclaimed.

If converted to prices from the previous life, these snacks would only cost around five yuan, which is unbelievably cheap.

Moreover, the packaging of these snacks was brightly colored and very eye-catching.

The blue cardboard box containing the chocolate frog, in particular, had gold trim on the top and bottom, making it look very exquisite.

"Thank you!" Cho Chang accepted the chocolate frog that Vizette handed her.

She opened the box of chocolate frogs, and the chocolate frog inside leaped up, drawing a brown arc in the air.

With lightning speed, Vizette gently pinched the chocolate frog, a look of surprise on his face. "This can actually move? That's amazing!"

Through his magical eye, he discovered that the Chocolate Frog's surface was covered in magic, along with a similarly blurry symbol.

"The pictures inside are amazing too!" Cho Chang took a card out of the box.

The card also featured blurred magical symbols, including an old man with a white beard and the character's name—Albus Dumbledore.

Dumbledore smiled, nodded slightly to Vizette, and then disappeared into the picture.

Vizette quickly asked, "How did he disappear?"

"That's magic!" Cho Chang explained with a smile. "In the magical world, there are many paintings that can move and may leave this painting to visit other paintings."

"The most valuable items in Chocolate Frog are these picture cards. If you're interested, you can start collecting them; the character introductions on them are quite interesting."

"Character introduction?" Vizette flipped the card over and read the introduction.

"Universally recognized as the greatest wizard...defeated Gellert Grindelwald, leader of For the Greater Good, in 1945...and achieved remarkable success in alchemy with Nicolas Flamel, creator of the Philosopher's Stone..."

Not only were the pictures fun, but the chocolate frog also tasted delicious.

The aroma of milk and chocolate was very rich. The chocolate frog melted quickly in his mouth, leaving a silky smooth feeling.

The perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness made it worthy of the highest praise—it's not too sweet.

"It should be sent to Luna... and Mr. Lovegood!" Vizette's eyes lit up, and he quickly ran up the corridor to look for the witch with the trolley who had just been selling...

Cho Chang must have been very popular in Ravenclaw; students came to visit from time to time.

Just after noon, another beautiful brown-haired girl came to the compartment.

The girl was a fifth-grade student in Ravenclaw named Penelope Clearwater.

Penelope hugged Cho Chang's waist and said, "Cho, I feel so much pressure right now... The OWL exam is coming up this school year, and I'm also the prefect."

As she spoke, she tugged at the badge on her chest, the blue and bronze color of the badge gleaming.

Cho Chang patted Penelope on the shoulder and comforted her, "Isn't this a good thing? I heard you even have a private bathroom, and a very luxurious one at that."

"Enjoying benefits comes with obligations," Penelope sighed. "For example, patrolling the train. I just switched shifts with Percy Weasley, and I have a meeting later…"

"I came here to sit for a while during my shift break and practice some magic... I couldn't cast spells during summer vacation, which took up a lot of my time."

With that, she took out a wand from her pocket and handed a notebook to Cho Chang. "Cho, can you check if I've memorized the contents correctly? The summoning charm is 'Accio' (fly)..."

"This is a spell that can make a distant target fly towards you. Important notes for casting this spell... You must concentrate and clearly visualize the target; it cannot be used on living beings..."

She pointed her wand in Cho Chang's direction, "Notes, fly here!"

Cho Chang flipped through a few pages of the notebook, then fell silent.

"I haven't practiced enough…" Penelope looked annoyed. "I need to concentrate… visualize clearly… notes flying in…"

Vizette had some recollection of this magic, and flipping through the "The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 4" in his mind, he found a description of summoning spells.

The description of summoning spells in "The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 4" was quite long, and Vizette found it rather confusing.

On the contrary, he understood everything in Penelope's notes and even felt that he could try it out.

In fact, Lee Jordan wanted to try it out when he was practicing the Reparo.

However, due to the special circumstances at the time, no action was taken.

Now was a good time to practice.

He placed the Chocolate Frog opposite him, took out his bayonet-like wand, and gently pulled it back. "Chocolate Frog, fly here!"

The blue box containing the chocolate frog trembled, as if pulled by a thread, and moved twice in his direction.

The learning environment was very important. Penelope tried and summarized her experiences, which also benefited Vizette a lot.

As he practiced the Flying Spell repeatedly, the blue box moved farther and farther.

Just then, hurried footsteps came from the corridor.

"Have you seen a toad? Neville's toad is missing..."

Vizette looked up and saw a panting girl in front of him.

The girl had long, fluffy brown hair, chubby cheeks, and a pair of prominent front teeth, making her look like a sea otter.

Vizette instinctively wanted to recall the Chocolate Frog, but instead habitually chanted the spell, "Chocolate Frog, fly here!"

It was a success!

The blue box slipped into his palm at lightning speed.

The girl's eyes widened in disbelief. "What kind of magic is this? Why haven't I seen it in any books?"
