A sudden unease settled in his chest.
He reached for his phone and dialed immediately.
"Are you absolutely certain," he said quietly, "that all traces related to the real cause of Elena Zhang's accident were erased?"
Ryan Zhao, his secretary, sounded confused on the other end, but answered without hesitation. "Yes, Mr. President. I'm sure."
"Check again."
A pause. "Understood."
Only then did Jin Di's tension ease slightly.
"Good," he said, then added, "Is everything prepared for tomorrow?"
"Yes, President."
He ended the call and stared at the name Bai Lu once more. His gaze flicked toward the bathroom door, guilt flashing briefly through his eyes.
