Since Noel was free from his heat period, he returned to college as usual. Today he left on his skateboard instead of taking the bus. He admitted that sometimes he didn't feel comfortable riding the bus, because of the smell of Alpha and Omega mixed together in such a small space.
Moreover, sometimes there were Omegas who deliberately released their pheromones to attract the attention of the Alphas on the bus. This made them attracted to hormones that Noel found so disgusting.
When he arrived at campus, he went to his locker to put his skateboard inside.
As soon as he stood in front of his locker, three men approached him, two Betas and one Alpha. They looked so relaxed as they walked towards him.
"Hey, Noel. You finally came to campus today. I thought you had died on the road and wouldn't be coming back," said one of the Beta men standing in front.
He laughed as he turned to his two friends standing behind him.
"You wanted me to die on the road, huh? Well, too bad, I'm still alive and back here, Falcon," Noel replied, staring at the Beta named Falcon with a cold gaze.
They stared at each other with different expressions. While Falcon looked at him with a condescending gaze, Noel stared at him sharply, as if he was ready to kill the man in front of him.
Suddenly, Falcon and Noel shook hands like close friends.
"Yeah, I know this Omega isn't going to die easily, unless you blow up his house with a nuclear bomb," Falcon said again with a laugh.
"You damn man, until you do that, I'll throw that nuclear bomb at your house after I die!" Noel replied, laughing too.
It turned out that Falcon and his two friends were close friends of Noel's, but they were from different departments. That's why they rarely met because their faculty buildings were different.
"What are you guys doing here at my faculty building?"
His friends replied that they hadn't seen Noel for almost a week, so they came to make sure that he had finally returned to campus.
"We were just worried about you. But it looks like you're still alive and well," said Javier, the alpha male who was with them.
Their other beta friend nodded in agreement. "Javier's right, when you didn't come to campus, some people were looking for you!"
"Some people were looking for me? Let me guess, it must be John and his friends, right?" Noel asked.
His three friends exchanged glances and nodded. They had already suspected this, given the incident when John and the others attacked him at the bus stop, and Daniel had intended to kill him.
Luckily, Alastair came and immediately helped him, stopping them. But he was sure that the three men would come back to look for him again on campus.
"Then what did you say to them?"
"Of course we told them not to look for you anymore! At that time, we didn't know you were in heat. We just sent them away," replied Falcon.
"That's good then. I'm sure sooner or later they'll come back once they find out I'm back here." Noel was sure they would come back soon.
As it was almost time for the first class to start, Noel hurried to his classroom. Meanwhile, his friends who didn't have morning classes decided to go to the cafeteria.
"We'll meet at the cafeteria during lunch. We'll talk about this again!" he said as he ran to his classroom.
Luckily, he arrived at the classroom just in time before the professor entered. He chose to sit at the back.
As he placed his book on the table, someone moved to sit next to him. It was a familiar Beta male, Dalton.
"Hey Noel," he greeted the Omega.
"Oh hey, as usual, you always suddenly appear and sit next to me," Noel replied sarcastically, because Dalton was like glue, following him everywhere.
"Don't talk like that. I'm your good friend, right? Oh right, I just remembered that Ms. Deborah gave us a group assignment yesterday. I chose you to be my partner for her assignment," said Dalton.
Noel furrowed his brow and turned to him. "A partner assignment? Why didn't you tell me from the start?"
Dalton explained that Noel hadn't answered his calls all day yesterday. He thought Noel was still in her heat, so he decided not to contact him first and wait until Noel returned to class.
Since he had been paired with him, Noel had no choice but to accept it rather than not get a grade for this assignment.
At lunchtime, as promised, Noel met his three friends at the university cafeteria. They sat at the same table, discussing several things that Noel had missed when he didn't attend class.
"It turns out there were so many things I missed, even things related to me. Again, they wanted to challenge me because they didn't believe in my abilities. They are truly foolish Alphas who refuse to admit defeat." He reflexively turned to Javier and raised his hand. "Don't be offended."
Javier responded by raising his hand as well. "Relax. I'm not a stupid Alpha like them because I know your abilities. Honestly, I'm actually impressed by someone like you because you can show that Omegas can be stronger than Alphas."
Falcon agreed with what Javier said, as did their friend, William. The three of them acknowledged that Noel was indeed different from other Omegas. Not only because he was born into a mafia family, but because he was willing to protect himself rather than most Omegas who hid under their mates.
"But you remember Mike, right? He asked about you, but didn't seem to want to challenge you," said William.
"Didn't want to challenge me? Then why did he ask about me?" he asked curiously. But his three friends didn't know why the man had asked about Noel.
Especially since he was an Alpha who was part of the popular crowd, the captain of the football jocks. He was tall and well built, and his blond hair and blue eyes attracted the attention of many Omegas, both male and female.
"Maybe he's interested in you!" said Falcon, teasing him as he nudged Noel's arm.
"No way! It would be ridiculous if he was interested in me. Even if it were true, I wouldn't want to be with someone like him."
At the moment, Noel wasn't interested in being in a relationship with anyone. He believed that being in a relationship would only bring problems for him and the person he was in a relationship with. Considering that Regis wouldn't allow him to have a special relationship without his permission.
However, somehow lately he kept thinking about it. Especially since he had become so close to Alastair. An Alpha male who could make him feel alive again, feel things that even Regis forbade him to do.
'Again and again I think about that man. Even though he once said he was interested in me, but is it true that he is interested in an Omega like me when it is clear that he is a strong Alpha? Most of them would prefer dominant Omegas over recessive ones, right?' he thought at the time.
In the middle of their conversation, Falcon nudged his arm again and turned toward the cafeteria door where a group of jocks were coming in.
"Ohh speak to the devil~"
