Chapter 16 - "She'll look for her uncle."

When Vinitha spoke disrespectfully, calling Mullai a woman of loose morals, Velu, in anger, slapped her. Vinitha, shocked by her uncle's action, looked at him and then burst into a furious rant.

"Uncle... you slapped me? And that too for this immoral woman... Ugh... Just by seeing her, has she charmed you too?" Vinitha continued to insult Mullai.

Mullai was deeply hurt by Vinitha's words. She felt humiliated just standing there. "What is this? Everyone who comes and goes keeps insulting me. What wrong have I done to them? I haven't even thought or wished anything bad for anyone," she thought, feeling heartbroken.

Thinking that she would have to hear even more humiliating words if she stayed there any longer, she quickly picked up Theeran and called Hari. "Brother, let's go," she said, and quickly left the mall.

Hari, keeping them in mind, followed Mullai. He didn't say a word to them. Just as they were about to get into the car, Velu, shouting "Mullai!..." ran towards her. "Mullai, where are you going? Come, let's go home," he called out.

There was no change in his voice. The old familiarity was still there. Mullai turned and looked at his face. "Who are you, sir? Why are you calling me?" she asked.

Velu, startled by this, asked suspiciously, "Mullai... don't play unnecessary games, don't you know who I am?" He looked at Hari and Theeran and then called out possessively, "Mullai, come with me, I will take care of you and your child."

Mullai could not bear it any longer. She began to pour out the feelings she had kept bottled up inside.

"Who are you?" "If you had supported me and asked me to come with you, saying 'Mullai, come with me,' as soon as you found out I was pregnant, I would have happily come with you,"

"But you... without even listening to what I was trying to say, you just insulted me and left, didn't you? Where did this trust in me come from now, when you didn't have it then? How can I trust you?" Mullai asked sharply.

Velu couldn't answer. When she was humiliated by everyone in front of the whole village, he didn't offer even a word of comfort; in fact, he didn't even let her speak. How could she come with him now if he called her?

Mullai looked at him with utter contempt, like he was lower than a worm, and without staying there for another second, she got into the car and drove away. Velu kept watching the car as it drove away.

Just then, Vinitha came to him, calling out, "Uncle," and asked, "What's wrong, Uncle?" "What do you have to talk to her about? Come on, let's go and get dresses for our engagement," she said, grabbing his hand and pulling him along.

The man, however, whose thoughts were entirely focused on Mullai, went along with her. He had loved her more than his own life, and he was devastated when he suddenly heard the news that she was pregnant.

Great anger surged within him. Forgetting himself, what he was saying or doing, he spoke insultingly to her in his anger and left. He remained angry all day, but when he suddenly learned that she and her grandmother were missing, he searched for her throughout the entire village.

He searched everywhere he knew, wandering around like a madman. When he couldn't find her, his heart broke, and his cries of anguish must have reached the heavens. Rain poured down with thunder and lightning.

His love was true. But he had hurt her by wearing the mask of anger. Now he was crying out in despair after losing her. From that day until now, he has been searching for her.

He understood that he had made a terrible mistake in his anger. A few years later, his mother found out about this and threatened him, saying, "Marry Vinitha respectfully, or you won't see me alive." That's why he agreed to this marriage. He didn't have even a shred of willingness for this wedding.

But now, seeing Mullai, a sense of joy filled him. He thought that she would definitely accept him. "She's saying something in anger. But after her anger subsides, she will surely look for me." He went with blind courage, thinking, "They will accept us."

Meanwhile, Mullai, who was traveling in the car, felt her heart growing heavy. Feeling like she was about to cry, she suppressed the urge, not wanting to cry in front of the child. As she held back her tears, her throat began to ache.

Dheeran and Hari had been observing this. Hari, without bothering her with questions about who they were, quietly drove the car and stopped it in front of the house.

Mullai carried Dheeran inside, and Hari followed them with their bags. Going straight to the room, she gave Dheeran her phone and said, "Dheera, I'm going to take a shower. You stay with Vaishnu," and quickly went into the bathroom.

Closing the door and latching it, she turned on the shower and stood beneath it, finally releasing the tears she had held back for so long.

"She'll look for her uncle."
