Chapter 13 - Calm Evening.

As he walked outside the building, the chilling wind rushed toward him faster than he expected, making him smile. He was used to this wind and was very grateful that he can now live in a warm place where even the corridors were heated.

Putting both of his hands in his pockets, he leisurely walked out. The big iron gate that secured the parking lot and outer walls had to be opened by hand. Outside, Danica's car was parked.

What a nice neighborhood. Oh? Now that I think about it, I got another card, right? System.

[Side Mission: Help out Blanka Marie Silber] [Passed]

[Passing Grade: A+]

[Reward: Love Card 69% Crit. (Item)]

[Press here to get the rewards.]

Max tapped to get the reward. A pink-colored card appeared in his hand. It had several hearts printed on it and looked dazzling in the sun. Max was impressed with just the visual of it. He stored it in his wallet beside his Palladium Card.

Show me all the item and skill details.

[Locksmith (God Tier): Touch to unlock any lock on Earth.]

[Driver (Master Tier): Any land vehicle can be driven skillfully.]

[Palladium Credit Card (Elite Tier): All the illicit assets in the 3-kilometer radius will convert to legal assets for the holder.] [Press on the ground to activate.]

[Love Card 69% Crit (One-time Use Only): This card can alter human emotions. If a female takes it from your hand willingly, there's a 69% chance she will fall in love with you with 300% more passion than a normal human.]

HAAAAH?!! OMG this is so wrong!!

Max's mind went blank reading the description of the reward he has gotten. It was so shocking to him that the system can produce something unreal like this.

It's like a forbidden item. I'll keep it in my wallet, but the way my luck has been lately, I think it might fall out of my wallet anytime, and someone will pick it up and take it willingly.

Shaking his head from the absurd thought, Max laughed a little. Then, dismissing the system panel, he walked ahead. He just wanted to explore the neighborhood on his own. The whole area looked very calm and clean.

I'll add morning jogging to my schedule.

After walking for about twenty minutes, he finally saw a grocery store. If he knew the area, it's not even a five-minute walk from his apartment. Beside it, there was a pizza place and what he was searching for all along—an ATM booth.

He first went to the ATM booth. Unlike the last time, when the booth was closed, this one was massive, just like the city itself. With a smile, he went inside, entered his card, and withdrew €24,000, all in hundred-euro bills, stuffing it into his bag with the other 9,000€.

[Current Legal Balance: 348,437.01 €]

Damn… I haven't even used the Palladium Card properly in this city yet.

As he walked out of the booth, the vibrant city looked very pretty. His new life has started just perfectly. The aroma of pizza woke him up from his happy daydreaming.

Should I go back with pizza and beer? I don't think Blanka will like beer. She might make a fuss about it. Better grab a soda for her as backup.

With a happy face, he went inside the pizza shop. The interior looked beautiful, and it was his first time in such a big fast-food shop. He thought it was a small place, but inside it was two stories tall with lots of seating space.

Nice. I can come here to eat when I feel too lazy to cook something myself.

He walked to the counter and looked at the menu. The place was called 'Riva Bar.' He didn't understand much by looking at the menu, so Max decided to ask the nearby waitress for help.

"Excuse me, I want to buy pizza for three people. Which flavor and size would you recommend?"

"Let's see. Take two large pizzas—salami and tuna. These are our best options for today."

"I see, thank you."

The middle-aged waitress just smiled and went ahead, continuing her job. It didn't take her five seconds to help out Max.

"Hey, I'll have two large pizzas, salami and tuna. Also give me three bottles of beer, whatever the best one is, and a can of soda."

"Sure, that will be 68.45€ total. Cash or card?"

"I will pay with cash."

"Thank you so much. Here's your receipt and token. Your order will be ready in about 8 to 10 minutes. We will call your token number when it's ready."

Max took the small wooden token and the receipt of his purchase, then put away the change he got after giving a €100 bill. He didn't know what to do in the meantime, then he realized he has two new phones to explore and there's no one to disturb him at this moment.

Let's learn more about LMU, the university I will be part of.

He secured a place in a corner and sat down with his phone. Looking at the gigantic university campus on his phone, he was somewhat shocked that he was going to such a high-end place.

This university is 550 years old? Damn! Eh? The day after tomorrow is the orientation for the freshmen? I need to get my shit together tomorrow to be fully prepared.

*TOKEN NUMBER 34*

"Oh? That's my number."

Locking his phone, Max stood up and went to take the order. Everything was packed perfectly. They gave chilled beer in one bag and warm pizza in another.

Max walked out of the shop. This time, he didn't loiter around. He went straight for his apartment. He needs to plan everything out and finish most of the unknown things in this city, because Danica is still here to help him.

I need to know about malls and transportation mostly. Everything else I can do on my own.

As he entered the road of his neighborhood, he saw Mr. Johann taking a black-suit-wearing gentleman inside, and there was another car parked beside Danica's BMW.
