Chapter 62
"Speaking of which… are you really going back like that?"
Naruto noticed how exhausted Sakyo was. Seeing that her gender disguise had already failed due to all the chaos, he reminded her gently.
As for Sakyo disguising her gender, Naruto had no strong opinion either way. He neither disliked it nor encouraged it—it was simply her choice, her freedom.
Sakyo mumbled drowsily: "I…"
She was too tired. She no longer had the energy to keep up the pretense. Right now, all she wanted was to find a comfortable place and sleep.
Almost unconsciously, Sakyo said to Naruto: "The Kamui dimension should have that thing, right?"
With that, she gathered what little strength she had left and transported both herself and Naruto into the space.
The Kamui dimension was still bright with sunlight—extremely bizarre.
Naruto and Sakyo appeared. In the distance, by the edge of the pond, a white strip of cloth floated…
"You're already this exhausted. How about I help you put it on?"
Naruto grinned mischievously at Sakyo while rubbing his hands together: "Don't worry, I'll be careful with the force. I won't make it hard for you to breathe."
Sakyo couldn't be bothered to respond. She slowly walked to the pond, picked up the white cloth, and inspected it.
After bending down to rinse it a little, Sakyo used Kamui to teleport herself straight into the central house—leaving Naruto with zero fantasy fuel.
Outside, Naruto was practically jumping with impatience. He called out to her: "Little Sakyo, that thing's still soaking wet. Are you really going to wear it like that?"
Just as he finished speaking, firelight flickered inside the house.
Naruto squatted on the ground in disappointment, drawing little circles in the dirt like he'd been rejected.
With nothing better to do, Naruto began exploring Sakyo's Kamui dimension. Birds sang, flowers bloomed—it was a beautiful environment. If possible, Naruto really wanted to live here forever with Sakyo.
But on second thought… nah.
Both he and Sakyo were normal people.
Some things in the world still required money to buy, and they weren't robots—they needed social interaction to stay mentally healthy.
If Naruto had to live self-sufficiently here forever, it might look nice at first, but he'd probably get bored out of his mind before long…
Ten or so minutes later, Sakyo walked out of the house.
Now, she had returned to the version everyone at the academy knew: Uchiha Sasuke, not Uchiha Sakyo.
Naruto thought about it and realized it made sense.
If Uchiha Sakyo attended the ninja academy as Uchiha Sasuke, then Danzō would dare send Tenraku Kumo to impersonate her.
But Naruto didn't say anything more. As long as their strength was sufficient, no major problems would arise.
What? You say there are unsolvable problems?
Well… if that kind of situation ever happens, it just means their strength isn't enough!
In the ninja world, as long as you have enough power, pretty much anything that sounds impossible becomes possible.
…
After leaving the Kamui dimension, Naruto and Sakyo ran straight into two ANBU.
One was Kakashi with his white hair and short blade; the other was Yūgao, the ANBU who had been monitoring Naruto all along.
Kakashi hurried over to ask what happened, but Naruto spoke first to both him and Yūgao:
"Sasuke needs rest. If there's anything, talk to me."
With that, Naruto scooped Sakyo into his arms without another word: "Go ahead and sleep."
Honestly, under normal circumstances, Sakyo would never let Naruto carry her in front of outsiders.
But right now, she was simply too exhausted. And for some mysterious reason, being held in Naruto's arms gave her an inexplicable sense of security.
So before long, Sakyo fell asleep…
