Yūgao Uzuki had just gone through a battle, but now—seeing Naruto openly pick up Sakyo in his arms, and Sakyo not only not resisting but actually falling asleep peacefully in his embrace—she felt something indescribable.

Naruto sighed: "Don't just 'uh' me. Speak—what are you excited about?"

Naruto didn't waste words. They were still in the middle of the competition—logically, these two shouldn't be here at his side.
Kakashi spoke in a tired voice: "I came to confirm your condition. I need you to tell me everything that just happened."
Naruto nodded, then looked at Yūgao: "And you?"
Yūgao answered instinctively: "Ah? Me?"
"I was sent by the Third Hokage to moni—to protect you. I came to confirm your safety."
