Chapter 157: Explosion is Art!
Atherley was emitting intense heat all over his body; the temperature inside the entire bar was rapidly rising.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Three more people—one woman and two men—rushed through the bar entrance.
"Atherley, if you act on your own again, the organization will surely punish you," one man warned.
"I know," Atherley nodded impatiently. He said, "What we should be doing now is getting rid of these pieces of trash."
"Hmph!" The man snorted coldly and pulled out a handgun from his pocket.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Soon, there were only five survivors left alive in the bar.
"Aren't we going to kill them?" Atherley asked.
"No. The higher-ups have another experiment recently that requires a few lab rats," the man smiled and put away his gun.
The other two men stepped forward and took out handcuffs from their pockets, cuffing the five people crouching on the floor. One of them tried to resist, but the woman stabbed him through the abdomen with one hand. Seeing this, the other four survivors didn't dare to resist at all. They crouched on the floor, trembling, constantly praying to God for protection.
"Let's go," Atherley kicked aside a corpse blocking his path and walked out.
The remaining people were about to follow when suddenly!
"Ah!" Atherley was launched directly from the doorway back into the bar, smashing violently against the wall.
Click~ Click~ Accompanied by the sound of mechanical friction, a person wearing black armor slowly walked in.
"It's Destiny!" The leader immediately pulled out his gun.
"The Ten Rings?" Silas surveyed the few people in front of him, then looked at the hostages shivering on the floor.
"You know us?!" The man's pupils contracted. He clearly hadn't expected 'Destiny' to immediately reveal their identity.
"Of course, I know. The Ten Rings? Heh heh... just a bunch of rats hiding in the sewer," Silas mocked.
"You!" The woman next to the man tried to rush forward but was stopped by his hand.
The man looked at Destiny with cold eyes and said, "My name is Therrus. We are indeed members of the Ten Rings, but perhaps we can cooperate."
"Cooperate? Are you kidding me? I'm a superhero. How could I cooperate with criminals?" Silas said, pulling up a chair and sitting down, finding the suggestion quite amusing. Silas hadn't expected this Ten Rings member to say something like this.
"Maybe you are a superhero, but you are definitely not a superhero like Iron Man and his crew," Therrus said. After making contact with Klein, the Ten Rings had begun investigating the identities of Spider-Man and Destiny. Since Klein was always with them, they had a good opportunity to find out Spider-Man's true identity. Unexpectedly, even through the Klein connection, they still hadn't figured out Spider-Man's identity. The only thing they could confirm was that Spider-Man and his friends definitely went to school.
"Hmm... superhero, you say?" Silas crossed his legs.
Therrus quietly placed his hand behind his back, preparing to contact the organization to tell them that Destiny had appeared here.
"Therrus, what's wrong?" The voice on the communicator asked. But Therrus didn't answer him; he stared at Destiny, watching what he would say next.
"Therrus? Therrus? They're in trouble over there. Quickly pinpoint their location. Therrus, we'll be there right away." Then the communicator cut the connection. If the communicator was active for more than ten seconds without a reply, the Ten Rings would immediately locate the communicator and rush over.
"So, Destiny, what have you decided?" Therrus tried his best to maintain a smile.
"Not well." Silas waved his hand. "Negotiating with me on one hand, while requesting backup to kill me on the other. What? Is this how the Ten Rings cooperates?"
"Huh!" Therrus stared at Destiny in disbelief. How did he know he was just contacting the organization?
Silas didn't answer Therrus.
"Communication detection complete. Should I cut off the location signal?" Alpha asked.
The moment Therrus turned on the communicator, Alpha immediately detected the communication signal. Then, after receiving Silas's command, Alpha hacked into their communication channel and eavesdropped on their conversation.
"Attack!" Therrus roared. Since they had been discovered, there was no longer any room for maneuvering.
As soon as Therrus spoke, Atherley, who was lying motionless on the floor, was the first to charge forward, emitting blazing heat.
Silas sat in the chair, completely unconcerned. He gently leaned back, swiveling on the two back legs of the chair. He dodged Atherley's rush. Clang! Clang! Clang! The bullets hit Silas's armor but didn't even leave a single white mark.
"With armor, I really don't feel like dodging," Silas remarked. He could have dodged those bullets. But he figured, since he had the Blacklight armor, why be afraid of bullets, so he didn't react.
"Stop using guns! They have no effect on him. Let's attack directly!" Therrus shouted decisively.
"Ah!" The woman next to Therrus was the first to charge forward.
Atherley, who was on the ground, also stood up and attacked Silas from behind. As for the hostages crouching on the floor, they didn't dare to take advantage of the chaos to escape. This was truly a fight between "immortals." If they ran around recklessly, they might lose their lives. It seemed safer to stay put and maintain their crouching position.
"Hmm..." Silas looked at the two people encircling him, drew a line in the air with his finger.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Blacklight armor on Silas's body immediately disassembled and flew out. The back part flew toward Atherley, while the front part flew toward the woman. The armor component on the back slammed into Atherley, then began to stretch out and adhere to his chest, carrying him out of the bar. Atherley furiously hammered the armor and constantly raised his temperature, trying to melt the Blacklight, but it was impossible.
Boom! Crash! The Blacklight attached to Atherley instantly exploded, blossoming into fireworks in mid-air. Even though it was daytime, it was still dazzling.
Inside the bar, after hearing the commotion outside and seeing the woman, Sylli, who had the other half of the Blacklight attached to her through the window, she was too scared to move, standing absolutely still, afraid that Destiny would detonate the armor.
"Don't be afraid, if he dares to blow up Sylli, the armor he relies on will disappear," Therrus said.
Brock breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Therrus's words. The explosion just now was too shocking.
"Damn it, Therrus, what should I do!" Sylli didn't dare to breathe heavily, looking down at the black armor on her body. Who would have thought it was an extremely powerful bomb?
"Calm down! Sylli," Therrus tried to calm Sylli down. If Sylli moved closer to them, they would be in danger.
Sylli nodded, thinking: If Destiny dares to blow her up, she'll immediately charge at Destiny and take him down with her.
"Wait!" Silas said, looking at everything unfolding before him. "Who said I only have one set of armor?"
"What!"
