Chapter 137: Subduing the Rhino Man
"Who are you!?" Aleksei asked, confused.
Silas gave a slight smile. "Just an ordinary person passing by."
The moment his voice fell, something seemed to surge out of the shadow behind Silas. Aleksei sensed danger and charged at Silas first.
Clang!
A piece of black armor appeared on Silas's right leg. He then aimed a kick at Aleksei's head. The leg armor immediately activated a thruster, rocketing out and significantly amplifying Silas's existing strength.
Bang! Boom! A massive figure went flying into the rubble. Silas had kicked Aleksei, the Rhino Man, away, while he himself only took one step back.
"Quite strong, aren't you~" Silas could feel his right leg throbbing slightly. However, without that armor, his right leg would definitely have been broken.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The armor pieces for the other parts of the body followed quickly, assembling onto Silas in an orderly fashion. Finally, the chest armor snapped shut! The armor was complete!
The mask's eyes, glowing red like fresh blood, exuded an aura of ultimate darkness. The entire suit was obsidian black, shining in the setting sun like a rising sun.
"You are under arrest," Silas said softly.
"What a joke!" Although Aleksei was sent flying by Silas's kick, he was completely unharmed, merely looking a bit disheveled. Silas's kick just now carried a force of sixty tons.
Aleksei looked at Spider-Man and the man in black standing before him. He counted on his fingers and realized he probably couldn't defeat both of them alone. Thinking this, Aleksei pointed his index finger at the two of them. "It's not fair that there are two of you! Next time, we'll fight one-on-one!"
With that, Aleksei turned and slowly began to walk away.
Silas and Peter exchanged a look. Peter immediately shot a powerful web to stick to Aleksei's feet.
Silas activated the thrusters on his back, launching himself into the sky. He clenched his fist and, from a high altitude, delivered a fatal strike aimed at Aleksei's head.
Bang-Boom! Smoke and dust billowed up instantly. Through the smoke, Peter vaguely saw a figure. As a gust of wind blew by, the figure was revealed: it was Silas in his battlesuit. The armor on Silas's right hand was now severely damaged, sputtering and malfunctioning.
"He's tough," Silas said, rubbing his right hand which was throbbing slightly. That had been the strongest strike he could manage, reaching eighty tons of force. Aleksei, who was hit squarely on the head, had already collapsed on the ground, unconscious and unlikely to wake up soon.
Clack! The damaged armor piece detached from the right hand's interface, and a brand-new right-hand gauntlet flew out from the shadows, reconnecting to the damaged spot. The damaged armor was retrieved into the Shadow Realm, preventing it from being left behind and picked up by nefarious individuals for research.
"Cool~ Silas! How did you do that?" Peter approached Silas with a look of curiosity, touching the battlesuit on Silas's body.
Silas batted away Peter's exploring hands. "Why don't you call out your Spider Squad and carry this big brute away?"
"Oh, right." Peter called out the Spider Squad from his shadow. They lifted Aleksei's body and entered the Shadow Realm to deliver him to the police station.
"Do you want one?" Silas asked, tapping the battlesuit on his body.
Peter's eyes shone as he nodded. "Yes, absolutely. That's so cool."
"Honestly, if you want one, you can ask Little Black," Silas said. The battlesuit on his body began to disintegrate, sinking into the shadow behind him, and the mask dissolved into black smoke.
"Remember to grab your backpack," Silas said, waving open the Shadow Realm.
"Oh, right!" Peter jumped over to his backpack, used the web shooter to spray the dissolving agent, took the backpack, and put it on. He ran over to Silas, and the two of them entered the Shadow Realm together, returning home.
Inside the Shadow Realm, Peter quickly changed out of his Spider suit before exiting through the alley closest to their house.
"Peter, do you think the prison can hold that Rhino Man?" Silas asked.
"Rhino Man?" Peter thought about it, and the man did resemble one. He replied, "A regular prison can't hold him, but the government has specially built a super-human criminal prison specifically for detaining people like him."
"Super-human criminal prison?" Silas was surprised at how fast the government had moved.
"Yep," Peter confirmed. "So don't worry about the Rhino Man escaping. The prison will definitely find a suitable place for him."
Silas wasn't so sure. In the Spider-Man comics he had read in his previous life, not a single prisoner stayed put inside. They always broke out one by one to seek revenge on Spider-Man Peter.
"Do you have any ideas about Teacher Klein's situation, Silas?" Peter hadn't been idle during school hours. He had specially sent his Spider Squad to look for clues, but unfortunately, they came up empty-handed.
"Not yet. Don't worry, Peter, it's only been less than a day," Silas reassured him. Peter was getting too anxious.
"I understand," Peter said.
Police Station
A group of people had tightly bound Aleksei and locked him in a steel container, which was loaded into the back of an armored vehicle. The vibrations generated during the armored vehicle's drive prematurely woke up the unconscious Aleksei.
"Where is this?" Aleksei groggily opened his eyes and saw only iron plating. He tried to get up and look around, but found himself restrained by chains, making it impossible to move.
"Hmph!" Mere iron chains couldn't hold Aleksei. He yanked hard with both hands, and snap! The chains instantly broke. With his hands free, Aleksei reached down and tore off the ankle chains, glaring at the iron plating in front of him.
Aleksei used his tough rhino horn and rammed it with force! Bang! The lid of the steel container holding Aleksei was breached.
The armed police officers sitting next to the container quickly drew their weapons and shouted at Aleksei, "Don't move! Put your hands up!"
"Huh? It's you cops again." Aleksei completely disregarded the armed officers' words. He slowly got up and looked around. "How annoying."
Rat-a-tat-tat~ Rat-a-tat-tat! The five armed officers immediately opened fire on Aleksei without a word.
Aleksei shielded his face with his hands, then casually grabbed the nearest officer and threw him. Smash! The tempered glass shattered instantly, and the officer flew out the window, landing on the roadside.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Aleksei picked up the steel container and began smashing things wildly. The container alone weighed five hundred pounds. Combined with Aleksei's strength, it wasn't long before all the officers were smashed into a bloody pulp.
"Hmph!" Aleksei tossed the container off the vehicle and looked toward the driver's seat in the front, his feet repeatedly scraping the pavement. He then charged forward! Bang!
The entire armored vehicle was torn into pieces, and the driver in the driver's seat was gripped tightly in Aleksei's hand.
