Chapter 119 - Chapter 119: The Battle Begins

Chapter 119: The Battle Begins

"Uncle Ben! We're going back to look around. There are some things I haven't photographed," Peter shouted.

Ben Parker nodded thoughtfully. "Go ahead!" As a dating expert, of course, he had to help Silas protect this romance.

"Then I'll go too, Mom?" Misty said to Lydia.

Lydia brushed the bangs covering her eyes from her forehead. "Of course, go ahead, Misty. Just remember to come back soon~"

"Thank you!" Misty said, and after Lydia agreed, she left with Silas and Peter.

"Young people's energy is really something," Ben Parker chuckled.

Lydia remarked, "It is. This is the age when they are most active. Our passion passed long ago."

"Hey! I'm back. Where are the kids?" Hugh returned with the drinks but found the seats empty.

"The children went back to take more pictures," Lydia explained.

Hugh quickly handed the drinks to Lydia. "I'm going to the restroom."

"Wait a minute!" Lydia saw through Hugh's little scheme. "Hugh, you stay right here."

"But I need to go to... the restroom," Hugh said, flustered.

"Hmm? Really?" Lydia narrowed her eyes, using an interrogating tone.

Hugh couldn't withstand Lydia's gaze and had to admit, "Actually, I'm not in that much of a hurry."

Outside a technology room, Peter held up his camera and signaled, "Silas, I'm going in to take pictures now. You two enjoy yourselves outside."

"Okay," Silas thought, mentally cheering wildly for Peter.

"Have fun!" Peter waved at Silas and Misty, then walked into the technology room.

"It's really nice to have a good brother," Misty chuckled quietly.

Silas nodded in agreement. "It is. This is the first time I feel like my brother's emotional intelligence has improved."

"Is your emotional intelligence very high?" Misty teased.

"Of course. Otherwise, why would you like me?" Seeing that there was no one else to interrupt them, Silas boldly put his arm around Misty's shoulder.

"I just found you very pleasing to the eye. My mother, Lydia, told me to pursue a boy if I like him, or I'll only regret it when he belongs to someone else." Misty had thought Silas was great the moment she saw him. After spending some time with him, she found the boy had a good sense of humor, and, more importantly, a certain indescribable charm that deeply attracted her.

"Just 'pleasing to the eye'?" Silas kissed Misty's forehead.

Misty rested her head on Silas's shoulder. "Let's go walk around."

"How about we go outside?" Silas looked towards the exhibition entrance.

"No, we have to go back later," Misty thought of the parents waiting for them and felt a headache coming on.

"That makes sense," Silas said. Just then, a message arrived from the Talisman Squad: The Monkey Talisman is in hand!

The Talisman Squad was indeed professional; their capture efficiency was fast. Of course, this was also thanks to Little Black, the scientist who quietly contributed in the Shadow Realm.

"What's wrong?" Misty asked, sensing a subtle change in Silas.

"Nothing, just thought of something funny," Silas said, stroking Misty's head.

Misty patted Silas's hand away. "Don't touch my head."

Boom! A loud explosion echoed, startling everyone into a daze. Misty tightly hugged Silas.

"Don't be afraid," Silas said, stroking Misty's back.

Peter quickly came out of the technology room, nodded at Silas, and then rushed out with his backpack on.

Silas had a thought, and clumps of black shadows quietly followed Peter.

"Let's go back," Silas said, leading Misty back to where Lydia was.

Outside

Peter looked at the panicked crowd. He took the web-shooters out of his backpack and put them on his wrists, then ran into an empty alley, shot a web, and swung onto the roof of a building.

He quickly pulled out the Spider-Suit from his backpack, put it on, and rushed toward the source of the noise.

"Don't panic! Watch out for the children!" Peter timely rescued a little girl who was about to be trampled.

"Spider-Man!" the little girl exclaimed excitedly.

"My child!" the little girl's mother shouted to Spider-Man from the street.

Peter smiled. "Alright, you should go find your mother now." He jumped onto the street and returned the little girl to her mother.

"Thank you!" the little girl's mother thanked him, then hugged her child and quickly left.

Peter soon arrived at a ruin. As soon as the people below saw Spider-Man, they shouted, "Spider-Man! There are people still trapped under the rubble! Hurry and save them!"

"Don't worry! Leave it to me!" Peter went up to a giant pillar and lifted it.

Suddenly! His Spider-Sense violently vibrated in his mind.

Peter immediately exerted his full strength and tossed the pillar aside. Boom! A massive suit of armor appeared where Peter had just been standing.

"You're Spider-Man? Please, you're just wearing red underpants," a bald man driving the Rhino armor said.

"Mecha?" Peter's heart jumped. Where did such a huge mecha come from?

The Rhino Suit creaked and rattled all over. It looked like the mecha wasn't very well-made; the technology was clearly subpar.

"I'd like to know where you dug up this antique," Peter said, scrutinizing the suit.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Rhino squatted slightly, lowered its head, revealing its long horns, and charged toward Spider-Man with heavy steps.

Peter wasn't foolish enough to stand still. He pushed off the ground with his legs, leaping over the Rhino's head. The bald man in the Rhino armor's cockpit widened his eyes, staring blankly through the glass window at Spider-Man above his head.

Peter spread his arms in the air and shot webs from his wrists, sticking to the large stones on the ground. Using the inertia and his own strength, Peter pulled up two stones the size of wardrobes. "Time to eat!" He swung them at the Rhino.

Boom!

The stones smashed into the Rhino's back, knocking the Rhino down onto the ground.

Clank! Clank!

The driver attempted to operate the mecha to stand up, but the mecha's limbs had malfunctioned, sparking and flashing uncontrollably.

Thump! Thump!

"F*ck!" the bald man angrily punched the control panel. Why is this thing so useless!

Peter, standing behind the Rhino, saw that the Rhino armor couldn't get up and said, "I broke your antique. Will I have to pay for it?"

Peter went to the cockpit and Smash! He punched through the glass window, pulling the bald man out.

"Let go of me!" the bald man tried to break free from Spider-Man's grip, but his strength was completely no match for Spider-Man's.

Police sirens soon arrived. Peter said, "Don't worry, I'll let you go immediately."

"Hey~ Spider-Man, do you get paid to be a vigilante like this? I heard quite a few people hate you," the bald man scoffed. Although Peter did good deeds, some people still hated him, calling him a busybody and saying he was an unregulated risk because he was above the law.

"I think the people who hate me are those with dark hearts," Peter said, letting go of the bald man, then shooting a web to tie him to the ground, sealing his mouth shut as well.

Boom! Just as Peter was about to leave, he saw something happening at a large building not far away.

The Exhibition

Silas saw off Misty's family, then found an excuse to send Uncle Ben and Aunt May away. He secretly dispatched two giant Shadowkhan Eaters to protect them, and then looked into the distance.

"Time to get busy!" The mask immediately appeared on Silas's face. The battle has begun!
