Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: Capture and Return

Chapter 118: Capture and Return

The Talisman Squad and the monkey began a chase through the forest. Because the trees were intertwined, the Talisman Squad flying through the air encountered layers of obstacles. However, even with this impediment, catching the monkey was only a matter of time.

The monkey kept looking back at the ever-approaching Talisman Squad. Terrified, it changed its form again, transforming into a brown bear.

"Roar!" The monkey roared at the Talisman Squad. Relying on its forcibly enhanced strength, it was no longer afraid of them.

The Talisman Squad landed on the ground. Seeing the monkey transformed into a brown bear, they each pulled out a tranquilizer gun from the Shadow Realm.

The Talisman Squad had anticipated this situation. The tranquilizer guns were specifically for dealing with the monkey; no matter what it transformed into, it was still an animal.

"Roar~" The monkey growled at the Talisman Squad, backing away continuously. It sensed danger.

Bang! Bang!

The instant the tranquilizer darts were fired, the brown bear, which had been massive, transformed into an even larger elephant. The tranquilizer darts hit the monkey, but clearly, the dose was far from enough.

"Hmph!" The monkey charged toward the Talisman Squad, stepping with its thick limbs, swinging its long trunk, and baring its sharp tusks.

The Talisman Squad quickly leaped onto the tree branches. Using their shadows, they retrieved more potent tranquilizer darts.

The Shadowkhan Ninja Captain glanced at his teammates surrounding the bear. The teammates nodded back at the Captain, each pulling out a magic rope from their robes.

The Talisman Squad swung the magic ropes high, then swiftly threw them, binding the monkey's four limbs.

A flash of white light instantly erupted around the monkey. The Shadowkhan Ninja Captain knew the monkey was about to transform again.

So, the Shadowkhan Ninja Captain quickly fired a shot. Bang!

The tranquilizer dart shot into the white light. Whether it hit the target would depend on the result.

The white light quickly disappeared. The elephant on the other end of the magic ropes had vanished, replaced by the small monkey.

Success!

The Shadowkhan Ninja Captain jumped off the branch, went to the monkey, reached out, grabbed its furry tail, and lifted the monkey up.

Shaking the monkey in his hand, the Shadowkhan Ninja Captain waved to his teammates, and they all put away their weapons.

This monkey had been truly jumpy. Fortunately, it was finally caught.

The Shadowkhan Ninja Captain stared at the monkey for a moment. Another teammate brought over a small wooden coffin, prepared specifically for the monkey.

There were many different sizes of coffins in the Shadow Realm, prepared just in case the monkey was caught while transformed into another animal.

Thump!

After closing the coffin lid, Shadowkhan Squad Ninja Five looked at his teammates and pressed the small speaker clipped to his waist.

Doo-doo-doo-doo~ Doo-doo-doo-doo! Doo-doo-doo!

All the ninjas instantly looked at Ninja Five.

Ninja Five looked at his teammates' expressions. Just as he was about to turn off the speaker, his teammates all started jumping up in quick succession.

Then, accompanied by the music, the Talisman Squad entered the Shadow Realm.

The Exhibition

"These things are just so cool," Peter said, sitting on a resting bench at the exhibition.

"Right, Silas?" Peter patted Silas next to him, looking at the photos on his camera.

Silas didn't reply to Peter. His attention was focused on Uncle Ben and Aunt Lydia. Silas was sitting next to Hugh, and Hugh was next to Misty. Misty had originally intended to sit next to Silas. However, Hugh intervened, claiming that he was afraid the two of them would be too awkward with nothing to talk about and that he would help lighten the mood.

Silas and Misty, who had planned to talk, could only communicate with their eyes now.

"Silas, why aren't you saying anything?" Peter asked, seeing that Silas hadn't responded after he had patted him for a while.

"Come on, Peter, can you take a good look at the scene?" Silas whispered next to Peter. In this current situation, he didn't have time to pay attention to Peter.

Peter looked up. "There's nothing, Silas. Everything is normal." Peter thought Silas was saying the exhibition was abnormal, so he looked carefully around and found everything to be normal.

"The exhibition is normal, of course, but can't you feel that something is off?" Silas said, controlling his voice volume. He naturally understood Peter had misunderstood him.

"Feel that something is off?" Peter dismissed it. "No way. You must be overthinking it, Silas."

Just as Silas was about to speak, Hugh interjected, "What are you boys chatting about?"

"Nothing," Silas and Peter said in unison. On this point, they were in agreement.

Upon hearing the Parker brothers' reply, Hugh's face immediately darkened. He felt the two brothers were targeting him.

Silas, seeing Hugh's expression, was naturally quite happy. He enjoyed seeing Hugh frustrated.

"Children, would you like anything to drink?" Lydia suddenly turned around and asked.

"Uh..." Peter glanced at Ben Parker, who nodded at him, so Peter said, "Anything is fine."

"I'd like a bottle of juice," Silas said. He wasn't interested in anything else, only juice, feeling like he could never get tired of drinking it.

Misty raised her hand. "I'll have juice too."

"Alright, that's two juices. Anything else is up to you. Hugh, aren't you going?" Lydia said, looking at Hugh.

Hugh pointed to himself. "Me? Lydia, I need to look after Misty. What if the children run into danger?"

"Are you saying that the three of us adults can't even protect the children?" Lydia said, spreading her hands, her eyes carrying a threatening look.

"Alright, I'll go." Hugh decisively chose self-preservation, leaving the spot but looking back three times as he went. He needed to return quickly, or that rotten boy, Silas, might do something to his daughter.

"I'm sorry, Silas. I truly didn't know my parents would come," Misty said, rushing to Silas's side as soon as Hugh was gone.

"No, I should apologize too," Silas replied. He hadn't told Misty about bringing Uncle Ben and Aunt May beforehand either.

"It's okay." Misty smiled and said, "Today is certainly... well... a very different kind of date."

"It is," Silas said, both amused and frustrated. This was definitely the first time he'd ever experienced a date like this.

After saying this, the two fell silent, as Uncle Ben and Aunt May were still watching them from nearby.

Peter noticed this nearby. This won't do! So he stood up and said, "Silas, Misty, do you two have time?"

"For what?" Silas and Misty asked, puzzled.

"Let's go walk around again. I didn't get pictures of some things earlier," Peter pretended to regret missing shots.

Silas's eyes lit up when he heard this. Perfect, Peter! You truly are my good brother.

"Of course," Misty agreed with this wholeheartedly. She felt strange with her mother's gaze fixed on them, especially knowing her father would soon return to interrupt them again.
