I tapped his shoulder, already exhausted by all of this.
"I'm tired of your drama," I said flatly. "Go ahead—fight among yourselves. Honestly? It'd be better if you all killed each other until no one's left. At least then, I wouldn't have any more problems in my life."
I let out a long breath, forcing myself to calm down.
Maybe I should just disappear. Somewhere far away. Somewhere impossible.
Ah—of course.
"I'll go live in the world of aliens," I muttered to myself. "Surely they won't be able to follow me there."
I smiled at him and raised a fist in mock encouragement.
"Don't lose to them, okay? Cheer up! Fighting!"
He clearly didn't expect that.
His cheeks flushed instantly, and he looked away, even the tips of his ears turning red.
"So… does that mean—"
"I don't love you," I cut in with a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes.
The disappointment on his face was obvious.
