I hadn't even turned around when he suddenly grabbed me and pulled me inside the car. The door slammed shut, and I heard the click of the lock before I could react.
I shot him an irritated glare. He was still holding my wrist—the same wrist Xavion had gripped earlier. The skin there was probably bruised by now.
"I told you I don't want to go with you! What is wrong with you?!" My voice trembled, half in anger, half in disbelief. What happened to him? Ever since he left for abroad, he hasn't been the same.
"I promise," he murmured softly, "I won't let Xavion hurt you anymore."
His fingers brushed gently over my wrist.
My eyes widened when he lowered his head and pressed a kiss against it.
I immediately pulled my hand away and shifted farther from him. He only gave me a warm smile before turning to stare out the window as if nothing had happened.
"Why don't you ever listen to me? Let me out!" I demanded.
He slowly turned to me. His eyes were empty—devoid of emotion.
