"Wait… how?" I frowned at the newspaper in my hands. "Wasn't the woman tied up? So how did she kill her boyfriend?"
I groaned and leaned back against the couch. "This is why I hate mysterious cases. They make my brain hurt."
Levi didn't look up from his laptop. His fingers moved quickly across the keyboard, the soft tapping filling the quiet living room.
"Based on my research," he said calmly, eyes still fixed on the screen, "she used poison. She injected him with something sharp—most likely a needle laced with toxin. Her partner was aware that she intended to kill him."
I blinked.
"What?"
"He strangled her," Levi continued, his tone steady. "Until she stopped breathing."
The room suddenly felt colder.
"A few minutes later," Luke added from across the room, "he walked to their favorite spot in the garden. He died there."
I stared at them both, trying to process it.
"I don't understand," I whispered. "Why would they kill each other if they loved each other?"
