This kitchen is too clean.
That's the first thing I notice as I stand barefoot on the marble floor that probably costs more than my entire wardrobe.
There are no crumbs, no stains… no random oil splatter someone forgot to wipe off.
Not even a stray grain of rice fighting for its life in a corner. Nothing.
Everything here is painfully clean. The kind of cleanliness that makes you worry if your mere presence is filth to the place.
I squint at the cooker in front of me and raise a brow.
It's electric.
Not gas.
When was the last time I saw an electric cooker??
I poke one of the sleek touch buttons with the tip of my finger, and the surface of the cooker lights up obediently.
Little symbols glow to life as if the cooker belongs on a spaceship or in a billionaire's fever dream.
Fancy… unnecessarily so, but still fancy.
I look around me, and pause.
Even the oven is electric!!
