Chapter 29 - Nobita vs Simmons (T-Rex form)

The roar split the sky.

Not thunder.

Not an explosion.

A living sound—raw, furious, and impossibly large.

The T-Rex mutation of Simmons towered above the ruined district, its massive form blotting out emergency lights and moonlight alike. Concrete cracked beneath its weight, buildings shuddered, and the air itself seemed to recoil from its presence.

Its mouth split open.

Three ways.

Flesh peeled back like a grotesque crown, revealing the gigantic, unblinking eye embedded deep inside.

Dekisuki's voice shook through the chaos.

"E-Everyone… that eye… it's still exposed…!"

Leon steadied his aim, jaw clenched.

"…Then that's our target."

Helena fired first.

Gunshots cracked through the night, sparks flying as bullets tore into the monster's hide. Chris followed immediately, unloading controlled bursts into its chest and neck.

"Keep it busy!" Chris shouted. "Don't let it charge!"

The bullets barely slowed it.

The creature roared and slammed its tail into the street, sending debris flying. BSAA soldiers scrambled, civilians screamed from behind barricades.

Then—

BANG—BANG—BANG.

Ada helicopter machine gun is roaring to life.

Each shot struck with surgical precision, hammering into the T-Rex's skull and jaw hinges

Leon looked up.

"…Ada."

From the open side door, Ada Wong leaned out, calm as ever.

.The monster snarled, staggering slightly as it turned its massive head toward the helicopter.

Simmons' voice echoed—warped, layered, furious.

"ADA—!"

Ada didn't answer.

She never did.

The helicopter pulled up, circling, keeping distance.

And then—

The air changed.

Black and white lightning ripped across the battlefield.

Not from the sky.

From the ground.

Leon felt it first—a pressure, a sudden displacement of air.

"…What—?"

A blur shot past him.

Helena's eyes widened.

"Nobita—!"

Nobita moved at lightning speed, black-and-white arcs trailing behind him like wings tearing through reality. He ran straight up the broken side of a building, kicked off, and launched himself toward the T-Rex.

The world seemed to slow.

Nobita twisted midair, his body glowing with Hunter Mode energy, and struck—

CRACK!

His kick slammed into the creature's head, carving deep into muscle. Hus force made ground break beneath the creature leg, tearing through the both leg.

The T-Rex Simmons staggered.

For half a second—

Hope sparked.

Then the wounds sealed.

Flesh knitted together violently, bones reforming with sickening speed.

Leon cursed.

"…It's regenerating too fast!"

Chris fired again.

"Nobita! Pull back!"

Nobita landed hard, skidding across the ground, breathing heavy—but focused.

"…I know," he muttered. "That wasn't the point."

Nearby, sparks exploded.

Gian's dual air cannons sputtered violently.

"What?! Hey—HEY—!" Gian shook them. "They're dead?!"

Suneo fired his lightning arc gun—nothing but a weak flicker.

"No no no no—!" Suneo panicked. "It's not charging!"

The T-Rex turned.

Its massive head lowered.

Its eye locked onto them.

Gian swallowed.

"Uh?"

The creature charged.

Gian grabbed Suneo by the collar and ran, dragging him behind a nearby armored BSAA jeep.

"GET IN!" Gian shouted.

They scrambled into the back as the turret powered up.

Gian grabbed the controls, teeth clenched.

"If gadgets don't work—then BIG GUNS WILL!"

"Do you know how to use this??"Suneo yells

Then..

The turret roared to life, firing into the T-Rex's chest, forcing it to recoil slightly as civilians scattered behind cover.

The monster roared again—and raised its foot to crush the jeep.

Then—

The ground behind the vehicle split with light.

A vertical pillar of black and white lightning erupted from below, tearing upward into the sky.

Everyone froze.

From the center of it—

Nobita rose.

He had jumped impossibly high, lightning coiling around his body like chains. His eyes were locked on the T-Rex's mouth.

The monster sensed him.

Its jaws opened.

Wide.

Wider.

The eye stared straight at him.

Nobita's hand moved.

A blade formed instantly—Void-Fang.

White edge.

Black guard like folded wings.

Lightning screaming along its length.

"…Found you," Nobita whispered.

He threw.

The dagger pierced the air like a falling star—

—and buried itself deep into the eye.

The T-Rex screamed.

A sound of agony and fury, shaking the city.

From the embedded blade, a black-and-white lightning arc shot outward—connecting directly to Nobita's palm, forming a crackling tether.

Nobita clenched his fist.

"LOCK!!"

The lightning detonated inward.

The system flared before his eyes.

[MUTATION STATUS]

Target: C-Virus

State: IMMOBILIZED

Duration: 10 seconds

The T-Rex froze mid-roar.

Then—

It began to shrink.

Flesh collapsed inward, bones folding violently until the massive form slammed onto the ground, reforming into Simmons' human body, naked, broken, twitching.

For a moment—

Silence.

Then—

"FIRE!" a BSAA soldier shouted.

Gunfire erupted.

Bullets tore into Simmons from every direction, a full execution volley. Leon's eyes widened.

"NO—STOP—!"

Helena screamed, "DON'T SHOOT HIM—!"

Nobita shouted with everything he had.

"NO! YOU'LL TRIGGER IT—!"

Too late.

The bullets stopped.

Smoke hung in the air.

Simmons lay still.

Then—

He laughed.

Weak.

Wet.

Horrible.

Then...

Nobita's system flashed red.

IMMOBILIZATION EXPIRED

Veins bulged.

Flesh began to swell.

Nobita's eyes widened—not in fear, but realization.

"…Of course," he muttered.

Simmons' body erupted outward again, flesh expanding violently, but now riddled with bullet wounds.

The T-Rex form returned—

And from every open wound—

Pressurized organic projectiles began forming.

Chris shouted.

"…It's going to spray—!"

Nobita didn't hesitate.

He slammed his fist into the ground.

"COMMANDER TOUCH!"

The earth trembled.

An invisible wall of force exploded outward, forming a massive barrier between the T-Rex and the civilians.

A heartbeat later—

The monster fired.

Flesh bullets slammed into the barrier like artillery.

THUD—THUD—THUD.

The shield held.

Civilians screamed behind it—but remained unharmed.

Nobita stood at the center, lightning flaring, teeth clenched.

He looked up at the monster.

"…You're done hurting people," he said, voice carrying through the chaos.

The T-Rex roared in rage.

Lightning crackled louder.

And somewhere above—

Ada watched.

Silent.

Unmoving.

The countdown hadn't stopped.

But the line had been drawn.
