Chapter 14 - Doraemon strategy

The bunker shook whenever distant explosions echoed through Tokyo's ruined night.

Wind carried the smell of smoke and burning gasoline; even underground, it felt like the apocalypse was breathing down their necks.

Inside the dimly lit room reserved for temporary evacuees, Shizuka, Gian, Suneo, and Dekisuki sat in a tight circle around Doraemon.

But Doraemon wasn't sitting.

He was pacing—fast, nervous, wiping tears he tried to hide.

His 4D pocket… the thing that saved them countless times… the source of his gadgets…

Was torn.

He kept touching the ripped edges on his belly, staring at it like a wound.

Shizuka stepped closer.

"Doraemon… are you okay?"

Doraemon didn't answer immediately.

His voice cracked when he finally spoke:

"I should've protected him better… Nobita doesn't deserve to bleed again…"

Gian lowered his head.

"Nobita saved us earlier… he blocked that zombie that almost bit me."

Suneo whispered:

"He protected all of us…"

Dekisuki pushed his glasses upward, voice calm but sad.

"He always stood in front of danger. Even when he was weak."

Doraemon clenched his little fists.

"I need to go home. I have a spare 4D pocket in my drawer.

If I can get it… I can help Nobita. I can protect him again."

He walked toward the exit immediately.

Shizuka grabbed his arm quickly.

"Wait! You can't go alone!"

Doraemon turned with a trembling smile.

"Shizuka-chan… I'm a robot. My metal body can handle more strain. You're humans… You'll get hurt."

Gian stood up suddenly, cracking his knuckles.

"Then we go WITH you. Nobita might be facing monsters with Captain Chris right now. We're not sitting here doing nothing."

Suneo nodded.

"Yes! Nobita always followed us into trouble. We'll do the same for him!"

Doraemon shook his head violently.

"No! Outside is chaos! Zombies, falling buildings, soldiers shooting everywhere—It's too dangerous!"

Shizuka stepped closer and hugged Doraemon gently.

"We're a team. You taught us that. Nobita believed in us even when we didn't believe in him.

Now it's our turn to believe in him… and in you."

Doraemon trembled in her arms.

Dekisuki finally spoke, steady and sharp:

"I have a plan."

Everyone turned toward him.

Dekisuki pulled out a rough bunker map that he drew earlier.

"We can't walk directly through the streets. Too dangerous.

But the BSAA marked safe corridors for troop movement."

He pointed to the map—a small green arrows.

"If we follow Route B-17, we reach the evacuation checkpoint. Soldiers escort civilians from there."

Gian raised a brow.

"So we find a BSAA team and ask for help?"

Dekisuki smiled faintly.

"No. We tell them a small lie."

Shizuka blinked.

"A lie?"

Dekisuki nodded.

"I'll say: 'Our friend is trapped in a building near that route.'

The soldiers won't ignore civilians in danger during an outbreak. They'll escort us in a jeep."

Doraemon gasped.

"But… that's risky!"

Dekisuki replied softly:

"It's riskier if Nobita fights alone without your gadgets."

The room fell quiet.

Finally, Doraemon wiped his tears and nodded.

"…Alright."

Suneo smiled weakly.

"That's more like it."

Gian patted Doraemon's head.

"We'll get that spare pocket. Promise."

They climbed up from the bunker's emergency stairwell into the dim-lit checkpoint area.

A row of BSAA soldiers guarded the entrance, guns raised, eyes sharp.

Evacuees were being scanned, treated, or loaded into trucks.

Dekisuki approached one soldier with confidence that surprised even himself.

"Excuse me, sir!"

He saluted nervously.

"M-My friend is trapped near Kaminari Street! Please—we need help!"

The soldier's expression softened.

"Kaminari Street? That place was hit the hardest…"

He scanned the group.

"You four kids and a… blue raccon?"

Doraemon bowed deeply.

"Robot! I'm a cat type robot!"

The soldier blinked but didn't question it.

"Fine. We'll send you with Alpha Jeep Team. Don't leave the vehicle unless told."

He shouted orders:

"Jeep 3! Escort these civilians!"

A BSAA jeep pulled up—tires muddy, metal dented, engine roaring.

Dekisuki whispered to Doraemon:

"You'll get home, get the spare pocket, and we return here to regroup."

Doraemon nodded nervously.

Shizuka held Doraemon's hand tightly as they got into the jeep.

"Please… be safe, Doraemon."

Suneo added:

"And fix that pocket fast! Nobita needs you!"

Gian shouted:

"We're with you till the end!"

The jeep door slammed shut.

The engine roared.

The BSAA soldier shouted:

"Hold tight! We're moving!"

And the jeep shot through the burning roads of Tokyo.

Far from the bunker, the night sky was alive with gunfire and flames.

Chris Redfield marched toward a BSAA helicopter, rotating blades slicing the smoky air.

Nobita followed beside him—gripping the dagger that Chris gave him, knuckles white.

"Captain," a soldier shouted,

"Leon and Helena's last signal came from Sector C-12! Heavy monster reading detected!"

Chris's expression hardened.

Nobita's breath stopped.

He remembered.

In his past life…

Helena screaming,

Leon fighting with his last strength,

Ustanak crushing everything—

And Nobita himself dying before he could save them.

Chris turned to him.

"You ready?"

Nobita didn't answer with words.

He looked up at the sky—where fire reflected in his eyes—and whispered:

"…Leon… please hold on."

The helicopter rose into the burning night.

Cut to black.
