Christopher placed his hand on Cameron's shoulder to support him. Calling and telling Anna was something he's not prepared for. It was a whirlwind he's scared will consume him.
"Here?" Cameron asked, his voice thin. "On the phone?"
"No," Christopher said, his tone decisive. "You can't tell her on the phone. She needs to see you. To touch you. To know you're real. A phone call would break her in the worst way." He stood. "She's in the city. At her apartment. She just wrapped a promotional tour. I'll call her over here. It's the best way we can control the situation."
Control. The word sounds funny when applied to Anastasia Sterling. Cameron just nodded, clutching the edge of the soft sofa.
