Back inside the dungeon tower, it had been a couple of minutes since Kai and Lyra left, leaving Carlotta in charge in their stead.
The first thing she did was use the hem of her gothic dress to clean Kai's throne, making sure it was as sparkly as it could be. It was her way of convincing herself that she was doing something meaningful for her husband-to-be.
Then, once she was done with that, she summoned fifteen Skeleton Monsters from their duty without a second thought.
According to the few things she was able to put together by herself, she figured out that Lyra had already organized what the dungeon mobs would do and what team they followed.
The First Floor, which was obviously where newbies would first walk into, was stationed with 15 out of the 65 mobs in the dungeon.
From the fifteen, fourteen of them were Level 20-28 Skeleton Monsters, weaker creatures summoned as the dungeon grew bigger.
The fifteenth was meant to be the leader, a Skeleton Knight of Level 35-50.
Following that was the third Floor, which had a secret room containing a gate that could lead directly to the First Floor, where Kai's main throne room was.
This floor had 30 mobs, five of whom were Skeleton Knights as well, securing the entrance of the secret room.
As for the second floor, only 15 were present there. These were all Higher Skeleton Knights, evolved from Skeleton Knights to their final form, sitting at Level 55.
They could no longer level up, but they were smarter, capable of communicating with people and thinking by themselves.
These particular Higher Skeletons were the ones being summoned by Carlotta.
They stood in a straight line, watching as Carlotta was dancing around Kai's throne, a huge smile on her face.
They had nervous stares on their skeletal faces, as the situation was far too uncomfortable for them to watch.
Of course, they would do the same if given even the slightest bit of chance to worship their creator.
Soon, after dancing to her heart's content, she looked at the skeletons.
"Hm… you all have no name, is that correct?"
That was the first thing she asked.
The Higher Skeleton at the front, having dark mist surrounding his head and limbs, chose to reply to the question before any of its peers could.
"That is correct, Lady Carlotta."
"That won't do. How can I have you serve me if I don't know your names?"
Carlotta kept touching the throne with her fingers as she spoke, making it even more obvious that she was going to do something weird if not controlled.
In the blink of an eye, she pointed at one of the skeletons, one after the other, while announcing their names so they could hear.
"Your name will be Teraim, Hamr, h—"
Just as she wanted to say the last name, she felt something forcefully pull out of her.
It sent a huge amount of pain to her brain almost instantly.
It was so painful that for a brief moment, her screams caused the skeletons to panic, wondering if the second lady was about to die from pain right in front of them.
Carlotta, on her knees, began to pant heavily as the pain in her head began to subside. Even she could have sworn it caused her to feel genuine fear for a while.
But then, after her mind had calmed down, she began to chuckle. The sound grew from a low grin to a loud laugh.
"Of course, how foolish of me."
She swept her hair away from her face and to the side.
"How could I have attempted to name monsters summoned by Lord Kai... I am not worthy of that. I only named three, and it almost cost me my life. Hee, you really are formidable, my Lord."
In truth, monsters were often born without names, as many of them were either summoned, born from the mana around them, or born through mating like every other species.
But in order to name a monster, one would need a great deal of mental fortitude and mana, something most monsters avoid after giving birth.
It was far easier to communicate with themselves without names, despite the fact that naming was also a way to trigger a forceful evolution.
Which was, of course, dependent on who was doing the naming. Most monsters would rather leave that to the strongest in the group.
With care, Carlotta managed to stand back to her feet.
"Forget the names; you guys are helping me regardless. I need to expand this place enough for my Lord, bedroom, living rooms, and so on. I have access and authority, and you are all going to make me complete it before he returns."
Neither of the skeletons understood what she was talking about. Bedrooms? Living rooms? This was a dungeon. But it wasn't like they could tell her no either.
"As you wish, my Lady."
They all bowed their heads in submission, showing that they were truly willing to do anything she asked of them, regardless of what it was.
Seeing that they were willing to cooperate, Carlotta had a smile on her face. It was a proud and cocky smile.
....
Outside the dungeon, it took Kai and Lyra a total of 30 minutes before they found their way to the great City of Ramosa.
Standing at the outskirts, Kai and Lyra made sure they were standing at a far enough distance that no one else would be able to see them.
From where they stood, they could see other people walking and entering the city rather easily. All they had to do was show a little card, and the security guards would let them in.
'There are really this many people entering the city? Can't be from my own dungeon, seeing as not a single person has killed me to clear the entrance.'
Now that Kai thought about it, he didn't see a single barrier blocking him from heading away.
There was supposed to be a barrier stopping anyone from going further until they had killed the boss of that region.
Perhaps it was only different because he was the Boss himself, although disguised as a human.
Lyra's voice soon echoed from the side.
"My Lord, do—do I really need to wear something so embarrassing?"

I am sure you all are wondering how Lyra and Carlotta are able to build the dungeons using the exps Kai cries about. Well, it's simply that most monsters with authority over dungeons can build their space. It's subconscious; they know they can do it, but they also lack the power to do so. They simply allow the dugome to grow the more they kill, but in this case, Lyra and Carlotta are aware Kai has the transcription needed; they have no reason to wait.
