"Welcome to Ramosa, would you like to try out some of our snacks?"
"Please come here; we sell swords and any kind of weapons you need."
"Your girlfriend looks good. I bet she'll look even better if you put her in this beautiful red dress."
As Kai walked through the bustling streets, many of the traders who had their shops opened near the entrance of the city gates began to surround him, urging him to come buy something from their shops, as they were doing with any other traveler that passed through.
Kai didn't interact with them, not even for a single second.
Throughout the entire period, Lyra and Sofia were the ones shrugging the traders away, hinting at how they were not interested in getting anything.
'Not like I have money to begin with. Speaking of which…'
Every step Kai took, he would look towards the people walking around him, reading them from head to toe.
It was then he realized it wasn't just humans that were in the city. There were multiple other species, some of which he had not heard about before.
For example, the Feline race, which consisted of Weretigers—beast people that looked similar to tigers—the Cat people, and even Leonin, who looked more like lions.
There was the Canid race, mainly representing dogs, the Reptilian race for the lizards, and so on.
With every species Kai ran into, he got more and more intrigued by the new world he had stepped into.
Although he made sure to try his hardest not to show that part in front of anyone.
...
After a while, the group managed to get out of the chaos and were now standing right in another section of the city.
Unlike the entrance that was filled with traders trying to get customers into their shops, this part of the city was much calmer.
Just civilians going about their day and other businesses being on display at the side.
"Sorry about that. It gets crowded like that during auction days; many of the traders are trying to get enough money in order to pay the upcoming tax," Sofia, for some reason, felt it was her job to explain that to Kai.
"Humans are barbaric. That is nothing to be surprised about," Lyra added, using the back of her hand to dust her dress, trying to get rid of the human scent on her.
Sofia simply looked at her and chuckled weirdly; after all, Lyra didn't seem like she liked her very much.
Throughout the entire time, Kai had his back faced towards them, his arms folded as he continued to observe the amazing sight before him.
'I know I mentioned this before, but damn, this game is truly something else. Every NPC has their own life. How much coding went into that? Even if they use ten years, surely it can't be this detailed, can it?'
He picked up on two human children running out of the dark alley, chasing each other with a broken branch.
Walking calmly behind them was a woman carrying a basket of fruits, most likely their parent, as she was looking at them with a smile on her face.
At the other side of the street, an old man was trying to hit on a group of girls, and they were laughing at his sad attempt.
Towards the building to the left, a chubby woman could also be seen trying to pour her dirty water out the window.
'Way too much to be considered normal, right? Then again, I don't exactly know much about programming to begin with, so maybe I am actually overthinking it.'
"Uhm Kai, are you alright? You've been silent ever since we left the city gates. Did the crowd bother you that much?"
Sofia leaned forward, her chest pressing firmly on Kai's arm.
The moment he sensed her soft jugs on his arms, his mind went blank.
'Holy shit, those are boobs. Damn, now that I look at it, she is actually packing a lot on her chest there.'
Of course, to the outside view, he was simply looking at her with disgust, unaffected by it. The same look that was playing on Lyra's face when she noticed, only hers was much worse.
Finally, Kai spoke.
"I can't be bothered by the likes of these people. Forget that, were you not supposed to meet with your friends at the cafe? Or am I mistaken?"
While he spoke, he panicked a bit as he could feel Lyra's anger slowly raise to the roof.
"Oh! You're right!" Sofia leaned away. "I was supposed to meet them there. I actually kind of forgot."
"It has not been that long since they left you. How could you forget that easily?" Kai was a bit taken aback.
"Tee hee~ it happens sometimes."
Sofia knocked the side of her head gently, then she leaned forward again, her face dangerously close to his.
"But since you mentioned it, why don't you come with me? I am sure my team will be happy to see you again."
'Too close!'
Even if he was trying not to be affected by how touchy Sofia was getting, he could not say the same for Lyra as it seemed like she would snap any minute.
To calm himself, Kai grabbed Sofia by the shoulders and moved her back a bit, watching as she made an 'O' shape with her lips, her eyes focusing on his arms for a brief second.
"I appreciate the kind gestures but I do not wish to overstep any longer. You have helped me a lot."
"Don't be silly, I don't mind. In fact, I want to help you. There is no reason to get all shy about it. I'll even treat you to lunch too."
Kai paused.
'Actually food?!'
"Then lead the way."
"Hehe, that was quick. I'm glad you agreed."
Sofia laughed a bit, then she looked at Lyra.
Before she could even utter a single word, Sofia froze in fear when she realized Lyra had been giving her the death stare the entire time.
Hell, it seemed like she was fighting with her inner demon too, holding her head and stopping it from reaching out to grab Sofia by the throat.
