Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Yggdrasil Defense Battle (Part Two)

The sudden barrage caught the Mobius pilot completely off guard. Abandoning any thought of returning fire, he gripped the control stick with both hands and urgently executed evasive maneuvers.

Under his command, the Mobius abruptly pitched upward, its powerful rear thrusters propelling it diagonally forward at high speed.

But the Mobius had only flown a short distance before colliding with an incoming round. The pilot's desperate will to live was ultimately consumed by the fiery explosion of his craft, leaving no trace of his remains behind.

After destroying the Mobius, Felix swiftly maneuvered the white GINN into a sharp turn.

Aim, fire!

Two rounds shot from the barrel, streaking through space to disrupt another Mobius preparing to open fire.

Forcing it into evasive action.

During its evasion, Felix pivoted and fired upon a different Mobius.

Using the same tactic to disrupt this second target.

With both Mobius units too distracted to aim properly, Felix seized the brief opportunity to charge the white GINN toward one of them.

Weaving through incoming fire from his target, Felix simultaneously tracked the movements of the other two Mobius units.

Noticing one had disappeared from his forward visual field, Felix dodged incoming fire from ahead before spinning around to fire behind him.

Thwarting the potential ambush from his rear.

Having done this, he turned the white GINN back toward the original Mobius.

Closing the distance incrementally while using suppressive fire to restrict the Mobius' movement options.

Under this dual pressure, the white GINN closed in, Heavy Sword already drawn. The long, razor-sharp blade cleaved the Mobius in two.

After the kill, Felix immediately maneuvered the white GINN away from the position, evading all incoming fire.

Raising the Heavy Assault Machine Gun, he fired at another Mobius ahead.

The Mobius pilot evaded the attack.

Swiveling its Machine Cannon, it returned fire at the white GINN.

Under Felix's control, the white GINN dodged the counterattack.

Raising the Heavy Assault Machine Gun again, Felix fired once more.

This shot was perfectly timed and angled, catching the Mobius pilot completely unprepared. By the time he detected the threat, evasion was impossible.

He could only experience the Mobius' destruction in terrified realization.

Aboard the Commander's flagship

"What's the current situation?"

The Commander gazed forward as he asked.

The Adjutant standing beside him reported, "Commander, our forces are currently locked in intense combat with the Earth Alliance Forces. Their warships have advanced forward."

"It has been confirmed that some of the Mobius mobile armors possessed by the Earth Alliance Forces are carrying nuclear weapons into battle."

"In that case, it's time to test our new equipment. Inform all units to prepare for the side effects brought by the Neutron Jammers."

Upon hearing this, the Commander issued the order to the Adjutant.

The Adjutant, having received the command, relayed it to all warships and squad leaders of the ZAFT assault force.

The temporarily equipped Neutron Jammer warships, upon receiving the order, watched the timer and silently counted down.

When the countdown ended, the Captain gave the command.

"Activate the Neutron Jammers!"

With the order issued, the Neutron Jammers were activated, beginning to interfere with neutron movement in the covered area while producing side effects.

Frontline Battlefield

Felix, piloting the white GINN, clearly sensed that the radar was no longer functioning properly, and communication with his teammates was severely disrupted.

"The timing is still too rushed! With more time, we could have modified to use laser radar and laser communication, reducing the interference to some extent."

Muttering to himself, Felix contemplated the situation.

Meanwhile

Mobius Cockpit

"What's going on? Why is the radar unusable?"

When trying to lock onto the white GINN using radar, the pilot clearly felt that radar locking was no longer possible.

Additionally, the warning radar was also ineffective.

Upon inspection, he found that all radar equipment was unusable, with only optical sensors remaining operational.

"Respond if you can hear me! Respond if you can hear me!"

Realizing this, the pilot desperately tried to establish contact with his teammates but found that communication, usually effortless, was now impossible.

The inability to connect with his comrades made him increasingly anxious and irritable, as he repeatedly called out over the comms.

While he was calling, Felix aimed the white GINN's weapons at him and opened fire. Through the feed from the optical sensors, the pilot saw the attack coming toward him.

He urgently maneuvered the Mobius to evade.

In this evasive action, the blind spot behind the Mobius was exposed to Felix.

Watching the Mobius's maneuver, Felix decisively pulled the trigger.

A single shot instantly destroyed the Mobius.

After eliminating this target, Felix maneuvered toward another Mobius.

...

"Respond if you can hear me! Respond if you can hear me! Respond if you can hear me!"

The calls echoed across the bridge of a Drake-class combat vessel under the Earth Alliance's First Fleet.

Receiving no response, the communications officer reported to the Captain.

"Captain, we've lost contact with our forces. We cannot establish communication with either the MA units or other warships."

Bang!

The Captain, upon hearing this, slammed his fist hard against the armrest of his chair, his face contorted with rage as he growled through gritted teeth.

"Damn Coordinators! What kind of technology are they using?"

After his outburst, he ordered the communications officer.

"Keep trying to establish contact!"

"Understood!"

The communications officer replied and resumed his work.

On the left side of this Drake-class Battleship, however, was another vessel of the same class that had suffered even more severe effects.

"Captain, the reactor has shut down."

A soldier in the power compartment reported to the bridge via the ship's wired communication system. While delivering this report, the soldier continuously performed maintenance checks and attempted to restart the reactor.

On the bridge:

"Switch to the conventional power furnace to maintain the ship's mobility. Continue attempting to restart the reactor simultaneously."

Upon learning of the reactor failure, the Captain issued commands to the soldier. The power compartment soldier acknowledged the order with a response:

"Yes, Captain!"
