Gabriel raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Dinner, yes. Full-course chef? Not quite."
Ethan feigned offense, tapping his chest. "Excuse me! I'm a culinary prodigy in my own right. Apples, cookies, water… perfectly balanced nutrition."
Gabriel chuckled, shaking his head. He reached for the apple but paused, watching Ethan's earnest little grin. "And here I thought I was the adult in this apartment."
"You are," Ethan said, leaning closer, nudging his shoulder against Gabriel's. "But I make you happy… and that counts for something."
Gabriel's chest warmed at the honesty in his voice.
