Heaven 's POV
Inside the box, all the toys and belongings that I had lost when I was a child was all in this box.
My favorite yarn doll that my mother had made for me, I use to carry it everywhere until I lost it. The special stone I had found in the garden and thought it was magic. The four ribbons each of the Alpha Brothers gifted me. The daisy flower that Damian had picked for me when we were little.
They were all mine and I had thought they were lost forever.
My head began trembling as I reached out to touch the box, but Sophia pulled it away. I looked at her confused and desperate to know what was going on.
"You want to know where I got this?" She asked
I nodded quickly, still looking at the box. "I stole it," She said blankly.
It felt like the world had stopped as I tried processing what she had just said.
"I stole every single one," she continued calmly
She moved closer to me, picked up the yarn doll, and held it up as it dangled. "This was your favorite doll. I remembered you cried for days when it disappeared. You thought tyou had lost it in the garden, but I took it from your room and hid it."
I looked up at her, speechless. I didn't know what to to say.
Then she picked up the stone. "Oh, you loved this one. You carried it in your pocket, thinking it was magical and that it would make your your wishes come true. You cried your eyes out until you became fucking sick. Hahaha!" She laughed.
"Oh! How I enjoyed watching you cry your eyes out. It was fun, you silly goose."
My legs felt weak. I... I wanted to faint, but I couldn't move. I didn't want to believethat all of this was real.
"The flower" she said as she trailed her fingers on it.
"You were such a bitch. I had told her to give me the flowers when Damien had gifted them to you. But you refused, so I stole it instead, she snapped.
She took a breath in, like she was trying to calm herself.
"The ribbon and the balloon, I took all of them," Sofia held the box out slightly showing me the contents again.
I had thought that we were best friends then even though we weren't anymore but she hurt me this way.
"Do you want to know why I did this? Sofia asked.
I nodded as tears began to drip from my cheeks, I needed to know why she decided too hurt me even though we were so close.
She dropped the box down on the bed and then turned to face me again.
"I was jealous of you."
I blinked, confused. I didn't have anything she could be jealous of. We're best friends,,and I thought of her as my equal.
"Yes, Heaven, I was jealous, because you had everything that I ever wanted," She began to pace around me.
I shook my head. It wasn't true.
"You were Beta's daughter. Your parents loved you and everybody in the park adored you for no reason. And the alphas?" Sofia laughed bitterly.
"They protected you and smiled at you like you were the most precious thing to them."
I had never thought about it that way. Those were normal days to me. I didn't knowshe felt like that.
"I was a nobody!" Sofia yelled.
"I was just the daughter of the gamma, I was sent to live with my auntie because my own father didn't want me. He gave me away like I was a burden to him."
Sofia's mother went into forced labour. She had died giving birth to her. Her father had turned the hate on her for killing the only woman he had ever loved. Everybody in the pack knew about it.
" And you... " She stopped pacing and pointed at me. You had parents who loved and gave you everything, and you dared to pity me." She said as her tone hardened.
My head snapped towards her. She walked towards me until she was few inches away from my face.
"You o…only wanted me as your friend because you pitied me, e...everybody in the pack pitied me and I hated it. I hated you for looking I at me like I was about to break," she said bitterly.
I placed my shaky hands on my chest. I wanted to tell her that I didnt t know and that I was sorry she felt that way but I couldn't say anything g because I was mute.
"So I took your things and it made me feel like I had all the powers in I the world and I felt better.
This time, tears flowed down my cheeks heavily. It was the cruelest thing Sofia had d ever said to me.
Sophia's expression changed. She became excited all of a sudden. "Your father made it easy for me when he committed treason and almost ruined the pack. You became nothing and I saw a chance of becoming everything I wanted."Sofia smiled and it was the most genuine smile I had ever seen on her face in six years.
"Your family fell from grace to grass. They were executed. Your title was stripped and you became a mere servant," she paused.
"The fun part was when you became mute." She smiled.
Sofia walked over to the table and picked up a glass of water, gulped it down the the came back to stand in front of me.
"I took place, Heaven, I became the most precious she-wolf to the alphas. Damian, Damon, Dylan, and Desmond now notice me. My father became the Beta , and I became the Beta's daughter, and the future Luna of the pack," Sofia said proudly as she reached out and grabbed my chin, as she forced me to look at her.
"Today, I'm going to be mated to one of the brothers, if not all four of them. And you're going to continue to be a worthless wolf."
She let go of my chin and I stumbled back. Tears rushed down my cheeks continuously. I couldn't take it anymore so I turned and hurried towards the door.
"Wait," Sophia called. I paused and looked back. She was holding something in her hand. "Take this."
I stared at it, confused at what she was giving me.
"It's a hex bag," she said .
Her voice was suddenly gentle, as if she hadn't just told me how worthless I was.
"It will mask your scent. You smell right now and you know the wolfs can be so cruel about this sort of things, especially during important ceremonies." She explained
I hesitated as I was studying her. She was being kind to me even after everything. And I know very well that Sofia wasn't the kind to be so nice.
"Take it," she insisted, placing it on my palm.
It felt warm on my palm. It was probably magic blessed by the Pack Witch, to hide scents and to provide protection so I didn't see any reason not to accept it.
"Wear it around your neck and hide it under your dress, Sofia instructed. "And don't take it off until the ceremony is over."
I nodded slowly, still reluctant, but I didn't see any reason to refuse. If it would help me get through tonight without being mocked for smelling like shit, then I would gladly y use it.
"Good. You can go," Sofia smiled.
I left the room clenching the hex bag tightly.
I noticed Sofia handmaiden hovering around the door, nervously.
Sofia's POV
"Is it done, miss? My head's bleeding. Sia acts nervously.
"It's perfectly done,"I purred. "I can't believe she actually accepted it after everything I said I had done to her in the past, she's just as stupid as her father was."
I stood by my dresser as I trailed my fingers on the real hex bag that blocked scents.
If I had given her this one, it would have blocked her scent very well so that noone would have noticed her at all, but that wasn't what I wanted, so I switched it instead.
The bag I gave Heaven was made to do the exact opposite. Instead of hiding her scent, it would make them worse. Much worse that people would hold their noses and even stare and laugh at her.
She would smell like rots the moment she stepped her legs into the ballroom.
I am so proud of myself for thinking of such a plan. What made me more excited was that when people begin to stare andmove away from her, she wouldn't know why and would just stand there confused.
"Should I help you dress now, Miss," Sia asked politely.
" Yes," I said turning from the dresser. "I want to look perfect tonight."
Tonight, I would be mated to the Alphas, I would also get to watch Heaven embarrass herself in front of the entire pack. I couldn't help but smile at my crazy plan.
