Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

In the dark of night, the civilians of Hamelin were beginning to panic. The streets began to fill as many began to pack up with their families to flee. The soaring blood red light gave them an eerie feeling at first. However, soon a more heavy and terrifying shift commenced as the clouds above shifted and turned.

The ground began to shake as the once light breeze began to pick up into a more violent windstorm. Even the rats that plague the city could be seen leaving in doves as if running for the hills.

At the center and cause of this event, Felix slowly stood up. Laughing like a madman as he felt like his magic surging wildly as if limitless. His mind, analyzing the creature before him as the field began to crack and trees fell.

"What are you, brat?"

While shouting, the giant round creature lashed out with one of its tentacles. However, Felix slowly removed his hand from his eye. An eerie red glow continued to grow from his eyes as he pointed his hand towards the incoming attack.

"First come destruction."

A calm voice with a hint of madness seemed to echo around. Then under the monster's astonished gaze and horror. Its tentacles began to scatter like sand.

"Impossible. This is impossible! How can your magic possibly hurt me! I should be immune to magic."

While the monstrous creature roared and screamed angrily. The eerie and calm voice filled with madness echoed once more, shattering the creature's roars of anger.

"I bring forth nothing, I bless nothing, I save nothing, I just erase…completely. Shatter."

A small beam of magic escaped Felix's hand that swept across the clearing so quickly the monster creature couldn't even react. One moment it was roaring in agony at having one of its limbs taken away, now it felt its body falling apart.

"Demon, you are that Demon!" The creature roared.

In its anger it continues to lash out with its limbs. Its large body also began to pounce towards Felix even as it began to scatter into the wind.

Thanks to its own magic immunity and immense magic, it can slow down the magic eating at its body. Only slow it down as it fears before long it will have to return to the void and wait for a new chance to descend. However, before it returns in hopes of dispelling this magic, it will have its revenge on this demon child.

"Hahaha," Felix laughed as he waved his hand.

Under his hand, magic appeared and slashed through the large body. The large body continued to scatter like sand in the wind. The screams of the unwilling creature filled the area as its immense rage faded with its body.

"When I see you again boy, I will eat you."

After dropping this line, the monstrous creature summoned by the Mayor and Guard Captain left this world. However, as it may have left, Felix is still around with his magic continuing to swirl around him.

Thanks to this, the ground beneath him began to buckle while trees continued to fall. Slowly rising into the air, Felix continues to feel the overwhelming feeling to destroy. Around his body, one magic circle formed with each new one appearing to be bigger than the last.

"Enough. No more!" Felix roared inside.

"Boy, do you think just because you say so, it will happen." A cold voice replied within.

"Yes." Felix roared.

His eyes that have yet to blink since going berserk began to struggle to close. A battle of wills began to take place within with the winning gaining control of the body.

Finally after a moment that felt so long, but also so short passed. Felix lowered to the ground as the area was completely destroyed around with his eyes closing.

"You win this round brat, but I will be back." The cold and monotone voice said as it vanished.

A large sense of weakness filled Felix as he fell to his knees with only his arms propping him up. Sweat coated his body as it felt as if he had been hollowed out.

Clenching his hands in the dirt, Felix let out a yell full of agony as his emotions flowed out. All the horrors he witnessed in the Roland Training Camp and that sick Cannibal Necromacer. Now even the Mayor who sacrificed children was let out as he tried to reel in his emotions.

--

After managing to reel in his emotions and feeling enough strength return to his body. Felix picked himself up as slowly on uneven steps began to head back to Hamelin. Only upon arriving, he was met with a near empty village where even a few houses seemed to have collapsed at some point during the night.

The only ones still within the village were the old folk who weren't as mobile or were the only ones left in the family. The rest were on carriages as they high tailed it out where he could see one carriage track after the other rushing out of the village.

Luckily the client still hung around the Mayor's mansion.

"You are still here." the old butler said.

"Mission complete."

"Mission? Why are you still doing your mission when the mountain demons are fighting?" the old butler retorted. "Did you not see the blood light shooting to the heavens and the ground rumbling?"

Felix looked confused, while it isn't wrong to say that. There is at least a demon involved, but the ground shaking is more due to his magic being released uncontrollable. However, he isn't going to explain that, but instead decided to just explain what is going on.

After explaining how the children were sacrificed alongside their families. The old butler let out a long sigh. It is a terrible tale and even the worst outcome he alongside a few feared. At least now they knew what happened to the missing children.

--

The next morning after resting in the town, Felix, who regained some strength, began making his way back to Magnolia. Due to all the townspeople running in a panic, there weren't any carriages left in the town. So he had to walk his way to the station.

So by the time he arrived at Magnolia, two and half days passed. By then he recovered completely as he stepped into a chaotic guild. The infamous brawl was taking place as he headed towards the counter.

On the counter sipping a couple of juice, Makarov dressed in his colorful jester outfit watched the brawl before him. His eyes seemed to shift upon seeing Felix with a smile appearing on his lips.

"Mission completed, Master Makarov." Felix said.

"There wasn't too much trouble there."

"Just the Mayor summoning a demon from another space by sacrificing at least thirty children and their families." Felix answered.

Phew!

The sip of juice Makarov just took was spit out coating the floor before him. After patting his chest a few times as he tried to recover from the news.

"What did you say?" Makarov asked.

Felix then repeated what he just told and explained the series of events. After he was done, he found most of his friends were out on their own missions. Until he spotted Levy.

So going over to her, he picked her up onto his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and left the guild. He could use a relaxing bath and Erza said taking baths with friends could build better friendships with them.
