'These people? Were they recording the whole thing? And they didn't even think about helping us even once?'
His eyes fell onto the ground, fists clenched as his tears started to flow out through his eyes.
He gritted his teeth, then his head shot up instantly as his eyes fell on the people in front.
'Yes, how can I even forget? This is the reality of humans, they enjoy seeing people doing bad, but cry when it happens to them.'
A small sigh escaped through his mouth, trying to calm his body down. 'Let's forget it all...'
But, before he could think of doing anything, a voice fell into his ears.
"Are you not going to save us this time, too?"
His face fell pale, his teeth bit his lower lip as his eyes started to twitch. 'Wh-'
He noticed that the surroundings of his had changed once again, the people, the fire, and the car, all of it had disappeared.
The only thing that remained there was him and his paralyzed body.
His hands clenched, palms squeezed together to form a fist.
Soon after, two figures appeared in front of him. One male and one female, both of them were covered in blood, and the features of the woman were beyond recognition.
His eyes widened in shock, the fingers squeezed even harder into his palm that the blood started to drop down from his grip.
"Mom.... Dad..." He muttered under his breath as the tears started to fill his eyes.
"You could have saved us back then, but you chose not to." His dad said, his eyes were looking down at him with hatred.
"If you hadn't begged us to go back home in such a hurry, it all wouldn't have happened." His mom said, the broken jaw, which was dangling downwards, moved slightly as her words came out of her mouth.
Leon's eyes fell back onto the ground, the tears rolled down his cheek as they fell on the ground, drop by drop.
'Oh god... the state they both are in currently, I can't manage to see them like this.'
"Am I really behind it all? But I was just 15 years old back then... How would I have helped them?" He muttered under his breath as he bit his lower lip.
The lower lip of his started to release blood through the ripped skin, the pain shot through his skull as his voice came out low. "Am I really the problem behind it all? Would I have been able to save them if I didn't chicken out back then?"
He slapped himself once, and then came another slap on the other cheek. 'Come back into your stupid senses, Leon.'
Gaze shifted to the front as he looked at his dead parents, who were standing in front of him. 'Time to confront them like a man.'
He took a deep, long breath and exhaled it, his voice came out loud. "I know that I was groaning and troubling you both on that day. I didn't want to stay at the party and asked you both to take me back, and that's why we three got in an accident."
He took a small pause as he continued. "I do regret doing it, but nothing will change even if I cry and beg. I have lived my life in pain for the past few years, but not anymore."
"I'm sorry, Mom and Dad, that I was the issue back then." He said, voice low.
After a small pause, he continued once again as he lifted his body back onto his two feet.
"Please, leave my sister and me on our own. You both can go to the afterlife and enjoy your stay there, leave your human emotions here, and reside in the realm of the gods." He said, his voice was filled with guilt and pain.
His eyes started to fill up with tears once again, but he forced a small, warm smile on his lips.
Gaze fell onto his parents, who were looking at him.
Soon after, a bright light started covering them both, the light was strong enough to blind anyone if they looked at it with their naked eyes.
Leon lifted his arm as he covered both of his eyes with it.
When the light disappeared, he slowly opened his eyes as he lowered his arm.
His eyes fell onto his parents, who were now completely fine as if they had been resurrected.
"Mom... Dad..." He muttered under his breath, hand slightly raised up as it extended forward.
His lips parted as his tears started rolling down his cheek, and a warm smile curled up on his lips.
He didn't waste any more time as he rushed straight towards both of his parents and hugged them.
A loud cry escaped his mouth, and he started wheezing in the grasp of his parents.
He felt the touch of his parents, which he had longed for years now. His dad and mom in unison, kept their hands on his head as they both patted him gently, trying to caress him.
"Don't cry like that, Leon." His mom said, a small smile was tucked up on her lips as her tone was filled with the sweetness that was no less than honey.
"Yes, your mom is right. Don't cry, you're the man of our house now. If you keep crying like this, how will you be able to take care of yourself and your sister, huh?" His dad's voice fell into his ears, the tone was sharp, but the affection was still buried deep inside of it.
He didn't listen to them, tears kept rolling down his cheek, the heartbeat of his grew tremendously high as if he had just run a marathon.
'I can't come back to my senses... The motherly and fatherly love which I'm feeling after a whole five years is... is a little too much.'
His mom kept patting him, but then his dad said. "Son, I think this is our time to go." Tone was sharp, but the sense of love was still inside it.
"Hope you don't find yourself guilty for that anymore, it was the wish of destiny." He took a small pause.
Then continued. "If the karma wanted us to die and you to survive, it's not your fault. Find yourself lucky that you survived." A small smile appeared on his face as he patted the back of Leon.
