Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Book of Ascendancy

Morning came and Lucky woke up with excitement.

Today was the day he would apply the knowledge contained within the Book of Ascendancy.

He went to his desk, and picked up the first of the 13 books containing the transliterated version of the Book of Ascendancy.

Although he had roughly memorized the contents, he still couldn't help but admire its contents slowly.

The first book was all about physical training.

But it wasn't normal physical training, it was physical traing that was filled with extremities and the supernatural.

The first book was filled with knowledge about the human body and how it worked.

It was also filled with ways to improve it beyond natural limits.

However, in order to exceed natural limits, the book also explained that the body must first be trained physically to its limits.

Thus combining Lucky's own knowledge about body exercises from Earth and the book's own special training methods, he drew step-by-step examples into his own transliteration of the Book of Ascendancy.

Using his own knowledge from Earth, he modified the book's contents in his transliterated books.

He left huges spaces in his transliteration books so that he could add more information or detail later on.

For now, he focused on the physical training book.

'It says here that I need to train in a place where there's a lot of energy, which I assume is equivalent to the mana in this world,' thought Lucky.

When it came to the energies described in the Book of Ascendancy, he could only make guesses of what they were and matched their descriptions to this world's energies that he learned from the elves.

'Even though the book says that I need to gradually improve my physique, I think I can speedrun it with my vampiric regeneration....'

'As long as I have blood, I don't need to rest or wait for the cells in my body to repair naturally like a human being.'

'And because technically the blood of living creatures in this world already contains mana, I don't need to use elixirs or go to a place rich in mana.'

'The only problem is the equipment, but since I have the dwarves and the resources, I can make them as soon as possible.'

'If my training succeeds, then I can train the elves using these techniques as well.'

He was going to use his own body as a guinea pig for this new training experiment.

After delegating most of his tasks to the 3 elven vampires, Lucky spent the next few weeks executing his new training regiment.

During his training, he wore modified clothes containing heavy chunks of iron.

His new training regiment lasted for 22 hours every single day. During those 22 hours, he wore his weighted clothes for the first 18 hours.

After waking up from just 2 hours of sleep for his own mental health, and after having breakfast, he ran for over 6 hours.

Then, after running, he would train with weights that the dwarves made using steel.

The weights were abnormally heavy. With each side weighing at least 500 kilograms. The weights would often break and the dwarves had to make sturdier and larger weights to comply with Lucky's increasingly heavier needs.

The weight training would last for another 6 hours.

Then, afterwards, he would start combat training.

Because he didn't know how to wield melee weapons, he decided to use his most familiar weapons, his own body.

During his childhood, before he was bullied, he briefly practiced taekwondo.

Even though his memories of the time were limited and vague, he still roughly remembered the basic techniques.

Moreover, the book also explained how to move his own body during combat, so he pieced together the book's physical combat techniques and combined it with his rough taekwondo knowledge.

He considered learning from the sisters, but since they were soldiers, their combat techniques relied on bladed weaponry.

Thus, he decided to postpone learning combat from the sisters.

Though this did not stop him from sparring with them.

His combat regiment consisted of 6 hours of sparring and hitting large mountainside boulders with his own fist.

Even though his regeneration skills were top-notch, his body broke multiple times due to running out energy for his regeneration to kick in.

Thus, each time his body broke down, he drank copious amounts of blood from the elves, the vampire goblins, the normal goblins, the animals, and even the hunted mutants.

The mutant blood was particularly odd. It tasted horrible, and yet it rejuvenated him the most.

The mutant blood did not only contain high dosage of mana, but it also contained something else.

The last 4 hours of trained consisted of meditation whilst submerged in a pool of blood.

The book explained that letting the body rest in a bath of elixirs made it more accustomed to mana and in a way, would lead it to absorb mana passively through the skin. This would also make modify the body into instinctively absorbing mana through the skin.

For this, he used mutant blood from mutants caught or exterminated by the military.

And because he would be doing nothing but submerging himself in a pool of blood, he decided to train his mind as well by meditating.

Thus for 6 days a week, his training regiment consisted of 6 hours of stamina training, 6 hours of weight training, 6 hours of combat training, and 6 hours of rest in which 4 hours were spent meditating in a pool of blood.

The 7th day of the week was spent for his relationship with the girls.

They hung out and had dates on that day to relieve stress.

Due to this world's planetary cycles being almost the same as on Earth, a year consisted of 366 days. And like on Earth, a week was 7 days, and a month was 30 or 31 days with only one month having 29 days.

It was a coincidence that was borderline suspicious, but nevertheless, he ignored it.

Today was another training day.

Ater spending the entire day yesterday on a date with the girls, today he was going to increase his training difficulty even more.
