On their way back, Nami of course was still experimenting with her shit. Luffy was doing something—Kairo didn't know what exactly. He seemed to be switching between Gear 2 and 3 and even combining them at times.
The man would turn his hands and feet black with Haki.
He would watch as Luffy bit into his hand before beginning to blow air into that bitch.
Was he trying to go into Gear Third or something? No, Gear Third would just be blowing into his bones.
He was blowing air into his muscles. His body was expanding rapidly.
But as he tried to stabilize it, his muscles seemed to spasm around, and Luffy would revert back to his base state.
He frowned a bit. He was close, he could feel it. It seemed like he was missing something. The question now was what exactly was he missing?
His head would turn red as steam was coming out. Yes, it was hurting his head just thinking about it. Fuck, he doesn't like thinking much.
"Dinner is ready!" As those words left Sanji's mouth, Luffy even forgot he was frustrated.
"FOOD!"
"You wait your turn, Nami and Robin get their meal first," Sanji would say sternly before turning soft and saying:
"Nami~swan, Robin-chan... here's your meal." Truly the peak of male fantasy. Oh well, Kairo didn't care much.
He actually would prefer Sanji as a friend more than a closeted pervert, 'cause at least with Sanji you know what you get. Plus, it's not like Sanji liked them young or something like that.
Nami and Robin were of age.
In this world at least, where the age of consent was like 15.
Robin was definitely of age, being like 28. If Kairo were to add his past age to how many years he spent in this world, they would be roughly the same age—maybe with a year or two being the difference.
Kairo's brow furrowed a bit.
His gaze going to the north.
"Kairo, see something?" How the fuck could he tell Kairo spotted something? Kairo barely budged.
"There is a ship north of here..."
"Pirates... oh no, we're going to be raided for all our gold!" Of course Usopp was exaggerating.
"Really!?" Chopper seemed scared... scared shitless even.
"Maybe they will cut our heads off and throw them in the ocean," Robin would say blankly.
Usopp's eyes seemed to pop out his socket.
"Don't say that!" Chopper would also seem to have passed out, while Usopp was scared.
She would let out a small chuckle.
This was nice.
"I get to kick some butt!" Luffy looked excited. Zoro seemed ready to draw his sword, and Sanji seemed to be like, if they dare lay a hand on my Nami, I am beating their ass black and blue.
Kairo would yawn.
"Nami should handle it... they aren't that strong. Even Usopp would beat them with moderate difficulty."
As those words left his mouth, the fight seemed to leave Zoro—and there went his fight.
Those guys were bums.
"Hey, why the hell am I being used as a measuring stick!" Usopp would shout back, to which Kairo would open his mouth and say:
"Since Nami got a devil fruit... you are the weakest..."
So he was catching strays because he was weak.
Well, damn.
"Nami... do your stuff."
"Where the hell are those guys?" Sanji would say, not seeing them.
"Roughly a kilometer north," Kairo would say calmly. Sanji paused...
Wait. His observation was that high?
Being able to see from that far away?
"And how are we supposed to trust your word so easily? It's not like someone can see from that far."
Sanji would shoot back.
"I trust him," Luffy would say with a smile.
Since Kairo joined the crew, he hadn't tried anything sneaky or lied to them.
A few minutes later—
"I see a ship north!" Usopp would say, his eyes looking at the ship coming toward them... well damn, Kairo was right.
How fucking right was this guy?
Kairo yawned.
"How the hell could you sense them?" Usopp would question.
Kairo would summon a light bolt of lightning on his fingertip.
"My active range is wide indeed, but if I wish to see further... I use electricity to super boost my brain, in a sense forcing it to work at 500% its original power... this enhances my senses, this... my observation haki."
"COOL, can you teach me!?" Luffy sounded excited, getting close to Kairo, who was trying hard to push him away.
"Trying to teach you Haki transformation will take too long. However, I can teach you how to bypass someone's observation haki."
As those words left his mouth, the crew seemed to pause, almost forgetting the ship coming toward them.
Observation haki seemed to be quite an overpowered ability, and the fact that Kairo said there was a way to bypass it?
There was no way one could do that.
Well, to be fair, they weren't wrong—but concealing oneself was simple.
Every living being gave off a frequency. Everything has haki. If one knew how to control said frequency and make it flow with the world... one could bypass it.
After all, observation haki locked onto living beings and ignored non-living beings for the most part. Though that was only half of the story, there was still much more to be revealed.
