As they ate, Kairo remembered something.
"Almost forgot, here Vivi," he said, taking something out of his bag. Vivi was confused—what the hell was Kairo going to offer her?
He pulled out a weird fruit from his bag.
Luffy recognized it instantly as that weird fruit Kairo had.
"This is Crocodile's Devil Fruit, the Sand-Sand Fruit. It's a Logia, so it's very strong," he said, raising it to Vivi's level.
Kairo looked confused—why was everyone's expression, apart from Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, so exaggerated? Shit looked like he was doing something unspeakable.
"It's too much, I cannot take it," Vivi said, politely declining.
"It'll be much better used in your hands."
"I still need to train my Haki more, and I really like to swim, so it's not for me. But—you are the princess of Alabasta, a desert country. Whenever you fight in your own kingdom, you'll gain a 10x boost to your stats. I think it's fitting," he said calmly.
"If you didn't want it, why couldn't you have given it to me?" That was 100% Nami.
"While a Logia fruit is overpowered, it doesn't fit you. The fruit doesn't resonate as much with you." They didn't seem to understand it, so they couldn't feel it like he did.
"You mean that tiny glow when it gets near Vivi?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah." Kairo's brow furrowed. Yo, how the fuck did he know that? His eyes returned to their black color. For just a second, he had rimmed red eyes. It felt like ever since he went through the Abyss... hm, well, no biggie. As long as it didn't cause any problems, it was fine.
Though sometimes it felt like it wasnt Luffy speaking. Well, none of his business.
"Though I suggest you keep training your Haki. Until you can use Observation and Armament Haki on command, you can't eat it yet. We need to make sure your physical skills are up to snuff."
"Yeah." She seemed very determined, like she didn't want to disappoint him or something. Like she ever could. He knew she'd try her best to protect her people. She did take the fruit from his hand.
"You wouldn't happen to have any other Devil Fruits, now would you?" Usopp asked, sounding hopeful.
"Dummy, as if he could have any more. Devil Fruits are rare," Nami said, as if he could ever have another one.
Kairo pulled out a bag.
"Let's see. There's the Wax-Wax Fruit, the Kilo-Kilo Fruit, the Bomb-Bomb Fruit," he said, showing three new Devil Fruits like they were collectibles.
How the fuck did he get them? He shrugged. When he was attacked by Baroque Works, he killed the people who came after him, and the Devil Fruits reincarnated into fruit nearby. He just collected them. As Usopp was about to devour the Bomb Fruit, Kairo stopped him.
"Having a Devil Fruit is nice and all, but your Haki is still lacking. Let's work on that first, and only when it's decent can you try it."
Usopp didn't seem too mad about it.
"I, Brave Warrior of the Sea, Captain Usopp, will master Observation Haki before you even know it! After all, I lead 800 men!" Usopp seemed proud of himself.
"Didn't you say you mastered it a couple days ago?" Chopper asked, confused. He remembered Usopp said he'd mastered it. Shit, Usopp sweated a bit.
"I did indeed master it, but for someone like me, I feel like my mastery is far too low. If it's not perfection, I do not want it." The bullshit just seemed to come out of his mouth like there was no tomorrow.
"So COOL!" Chopper seemed to be the only one buying this pure pile of bullshit.
Suddenly, Mister Igaram burst into the room.
"Look, it's the guy with the swirly hair," Luffy said. Kairo turned his head toward the man.
"We have bad news."
"Igaram, what is it?" Vivi asked, worried.
The man opened up two wanted posters.
And they saw the bounties.
{Monkey D. Luffy}
{Wanted: Dead or Alive}
{Bounty: 150,000,000}
{Kairo}
{Wanted: Dead or Alive}
{Bounty: 120,000,000}
Kairo paused, looking at the wanted posters. Why the hell was his name on that bitch? He made sure to leave behind no trace.
"The Navy are circling around the island. In a day, they'll have this whole island locked down." Kairo understood the man's worry—it was natural. Still, why the fuck was his bounty 120 million? He made sure he was left unseen. His gaze went to the giddy Luffy. He had a 150 million bounty. Hahahah. To him, this meant he was one step closer to his goal of becoming Pirate King.
As for why his bounty increased so much, well, you see, the government couldn't let Smoker take credit for it. No matter how much they twisted the scene, for all they knew the Marines were on the far opposite side of the field, and by the time they got there, Kairo's intelligence network—i.e., himself—had revealed that Luffy had defeated the man. So now the whole kingdom knew it. TL;DR: it was too late for government propaganda, just like when they massacred the family man {Spoiler} D. Xebec.
The crew had to leave soon.
A/N I know Zoro got his bounty sooner than that, I know that now, but i didnt realise it for a while, and i am not finna edit in like 20 chapters just because of that, so, we can just go on about our day until we reach the chapter i remember and put Zoro bounty, or yall wait an extra month or so before next chapter reveal.
Yes, it will be that long.
I am way.....way ahead.
Could big mom make your dick sentient.
