Chapter 8 — The Evil-Eyed Saint King: Greetings, Boss!
Jiang Chen had already brought the two children to a shopping mall, urging Huo Yuner to take the silver-haired girl for new clothes and a proper bath.
After all, she was half of the Silver Dragon King, the ruler of all soul beasts—she shouldn't disgrace their kind.
As he watched the delicate little girl, Jiang Chen occasionally tried to strike up conversation, but the half-Silver Dragon King barely acknowledged his existence.
Instead, her bright eyes sparkled whenever she looked at Tang Wulin.
"Hey, woman! Do you know it's rude to ignore someone like that?" Jiang Chen growled, irritation flashing across his face.
If she weren't the Silver Dragon King, he'd have long since taught her a lesson. Never in all his lives had he been so blatantly dismissed!
Tang Wulin stood quietly to the side, his tense heart finally easing.
Although Jiang Chen's aura was dark, it didn't feel malicious.
Strange feeling…
At that moment, a message came in—from Di Tian.
"The Lord advises you—stop meddling!"
"If you interfere with Her plans, I'll show you what the Dragon God Claw tastes like!"

Jiang Chen: 6
He smirked coldly. Just wait until your Lord gets stolen away—you'll be too busy crying to threaten me.
Jiang Chen looked at the half-Silver Dragon King again, sighing helplessly. Gu Yue Na might be gorgeous, but he wasn't the kind of man who needed women in his life—especially dangerous ones like her.
Besides, after so many cycles, his desires had long since dulled. The excitement he'd once felt upon transmigrating was long gone.
He'd already been with Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing—even Tang Wutong, just to test whether that legend about Huo Yuhao being the only one she couldn't touch was true.
Now he had no interest left. There was only one purpose that mattered: ascending to godhood.
Since this half of the Silver Dragon King had chosen someone else, Jiang Chen could only "understand"—reluctantly.
It steeled his determination further.
The so-called ruler of soul beasts?
If beasts had to rely on her, they would never rise again!
Coldly, he turned to Tang Wulin.
"She ran away from home. I don't know why her family hasn't come for her yet, but they will eventually."
Tang Wulin nodded firmly. "Thank you! I'll protect Na'er!"
"Phone."
At Jiang Chen's command, the phone in his hand projected a deep-purple eye—like a vertical camera lens.
A surge of energy rippled, and another phone flew from Huo Yuner's pink backpack.
The violet eye gently scanned the half-Silver Dragon King, storing her data, then activated.
Jiang Chen handed it to her. "This is a communicator. You'll find your family's contacts and mine in it. If something happens, message 'Brother Thin Ice.' He'll handle everything for you."
…
After bidding farewell to the half-Silver Dragon King, Jiang Chen instructed Aolai City's branch of the Spirit Transmission Tower to keep an eye on Tang Wulin's family before traveling onward.
Destination: Eastsea City.
Aolai had been too small—no Ascension Platform, limited facilities.
Eastsea City, however, was one of the great cities of the eastern Douluo Continent. Towering at thirteen stories stood a massive Spirit Transmission Tower.
Every city of this level boasted an Ascension Platform. Across the Federation, there were only eighteen—revered as the Eighteen Pillars of Heaven.
For Jiang Chen's path to godhood, patience and progress mattered more than speed.
Now that he had taken human form, he needed to study human knowledge—especially battle armor.
While a soul spirit, he hadn't been able to control armor directly and had to rely on mechas. Still, over the past ten thousand years, he'd played with countless divine mechas.
Even his exclusive God-rank mecha—he'd long since worn it out.
Boring.
Now that he was truly human, it was time to experience human pleasures again!
Yet that shadow following him everywhere was becoming insufferable.
He frowned, glancing at the middle-aged man half a step behind.
"Why are you still here?"
The man stuck to him like glue. Jiang Chen was a million-year soul beast with a divine-rank mecha and a ten-thousand-year Evil Eye hidden in his phone—what could possibly threaten him?
"The Eastsea Tower Master was reassigned to headquarters. I am now the Tower Master of Eastsea City!"
Huo Tiangang spoke with solemn pride. "Please take care of me, Ancestor!"
Jiang Chen was speechless.
It figured—the Huo Clan had major influence in the Spirit Transmission Tower. They occupied one deputy master position, had one of the Four Great Spirit Transmitters, and even several seats among the thirty-six Council Elders.
And that was with restraint. With a guaranteed Ultimate Douluo every three centuries, few families could compare.
The Tower was governed by one primary master and three deputies.
The principal master, Qian Gu Dongfeng of the Qian Gu lineage, was a half-god Ultimate Douluo.
The three deputies were the Level 98 Skywind Douluo Leng Yaozhu, the 900,000-year Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King Di Tian, and one of the Huo Clan's Spirit Eye–type titled Douluo.
Originally, Shrek Academy also had representation in the Tower.
But over ten millennia, ideological differences had grown—leading to separation.
Shrek grew closer to the Tang Sect; the Tower aligned itself with the Federation.
Privately, people called it the Struggle of Tang and Huo.
Well, who could blame them? The other three nations had long fallen. The Heaven Dou and Spirit Empires were wiped out by the Sun Moon Empire.
Though Tang San himself had descended to forcibly rename the Sun Moon Empire as the "Heaven Dou Empire," that didn't change the truth: the continent was ruled by the Sun Moon's new Heaven Dou Empire.
The remnants of the other royal houses fled overseas to unknown lands.
"Ancestor, we've brought Yun'er's soul spirit."
Huo Tiangang pressed a button on a spherical device. A flash of white light appeared—then a white tiger adorned with black stripes and a sealed vertical eye on its forehead leaped out.
At the sight of Jiang Chen, the tiger's gaze softened with confusion. It sniffed the air, then bounded straight toward him.
Rubbing affectionately against his leg, it spoke in a goofy tone: "Boss!"
"You?!" Jiang Chen blinked in surprise.
Usually, first soul rings only accommodated hundred-year spirits. But with evolving spiritual cultivation methods, thousand-year contracts were now possible as soon as a soul master's consciousness reached the "Spirit Connection Realm."
And with the Ascension System technology, even a ten-year soul ring could be upgraded to ten-thousand years.
But this tiger—though it had served three masters in succession—remained a hundred-year soul spirit. Its bloodline was unique.
It was an Evil-Eyed Saint King.
Everyone knew that the Dai Clan's Evil-Eyed White Tiger martial spirit originated from this species—the Evil-Eyed Saint King.
Within Douluo's original lore, it had been a million-year soul beast capable of becoming a Beast God.
Its power had been drained away by Dai Mubai's lineage, leaving it weak, and since beasts couldn't become gods, it had perished under heavenly tribulation.
Jiang Chen himself had collected its body back then. Later, using the Tower's artificial soul spirit technology, he recreated it—but with heavy limitations. It seemed unique and could not undergo Ascension. Still, it matched the Huo Clan's martial spirit perfectly.
"This Evil-Eyed Saint King may only be yellow-ranked, but it's the best-fitting soul beast we have for our Huo Clan's lineage!"
