Chapter 77 We All Have a Bright Future
Swinging the Clear Sky Hammer, an overwhelming wave of soul power smashed against the cave's rocky walls.
Tang Hao's eyes were bloodshot. The ground beneath him split open, forming a deep crater, and the entire mountain trembled violently.
"Get out here! Give Ah Yin back to me!" Roaring, Tang Hao kept swinging his hammer, trying to force the vanished shadow to appear again.
His eyes bulged with rage, veins stood out on his forehead, yet no matter how he attacked, that shadow seemed to have truly disappeared—like an illusion that had never existed.
The cave around him had completely collapsed into ruins. The mountain above began to cave in. Gritting his teeth, Tang Hao could only withdraw before being buried alive.
Hovering in front of the cliff, watching as rocks tumbled down along with the waterfall, Tang Hao suppressed the fury boiling in his chest.
That person who took Ah Yin and the soul bone seemed no stronger than a Soul King, yet could vanish without a trace—he must have a strange martial soul.
And in this continent, when it came to bizarre martial souls, the Spirit Hall had plenty.
Years ago, Ah Yin had been forced to sacrifice herself because of Spirit Hall's siege. It wasn't impossible that they had secretly discovered this place through investigation.
Thinking of this, a cold glint flashed in Tang Hao's eyes, but it gradually faded.
"No, that's not right. If it really were Spirit Hall, why would they only send a mere Soul King here?"
"There's no sign of large-scale movement from Spirit Hall in Holy Soul Village or Nuoding City either…"
The more he thought about it, the more puzzled Tang Hao became. None of it made sense.
"No matter who you are—if you know about Ah Yin and me, then you must have been involved in that battle back then!"
"I'll find you, and when I do, I'll make you suffer before you die!"
Killing intent surged in Tang Hao's eyes like a raging tide. His terrifying Killing God Domain spread unconsciously, scattering every bird and beast nearby.
…
Three hours later, inside a cave more than a hundred kilometers away from the Blue Silver Emperor's location.
Luo Ling swung the Scythe of Shadows, shattering the massive boulder above. The rocks fell, sealing the cave's entrance completely.
After finishing that, Luo Ling carefully walked deeper into the cave.
Taking out the Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone, he licked his lips.
Judging by the timeline, Tang San was probably about to absorb the external soul bone, the Eight Spider Lances, by now.
If not for wanting Tang San to gradually become an evil soul master through the Eight Spider Lances—drawing power from flesh and blood—Luo Ling wouldn't have allowed him to obtain it.
Still, now that he'd secured the Blue Silver Emperor's hundred-thousand-year soul bone, it wasn't a bad trade.
You absorb your Eight Spider Lances, and I'll absorb your mother's soul bone. We both have a bright future!
A wicked smile curved his lips, and he stopped hesitating.
Sitting cross-legged, he placed the soul bone on his right leg.
The Blue Silver Emperor's leg bone began to glow softly, slowly rising into the air. A soothing sensation spread from his right leg, and soon the bone dissolved into countless starlike motes of light.
Blue light and flowing energy swirled around his right leg, merging into his meridians. A powerful surge of force rushed through his entire body.
Luo Ling felt wonderful—the power within him strengthened, and his internal energy channels expanded.
Gradually, an evil shadow appeared behind him, absorbing the surrounding blue radiance.
Closing his eyes, Luo Ling began the absorption in earnest.
A day later, the blue light within the cave had almost completely disappeared.
When Luo Ling opened his eyes, the cave was pitch-black once again.
He looked at his right leg. There was little visible change, but he could clearly feel how much stronger it was.
Standing up, he tested his power. His soul power had increased by three levels—now at level 49, just a step away from level 50.
"As expected of a hundred-thousand-year soul bone. Even with my dual ultimate martial souls, gaining three levels is no small feat."
He sighed softly, then turned toward the sealed cave entrance.
Activating Ghost Concealment, his body became translucent as he passed effortlessly through the rubble.
Outside, it was still night. It seemed the absorption had taken quite a while.
"Right now, Tang San should still be in the Star Dou Forest. I wonder if Xiao Wu has already left with Da Ming and Er Ming."
"Yu Xiaogang is probably on his way to Soto City by now. My plan can finally begin."
Luo Ling muttered under the cold moonlight, his blood-red eyes gleaming with murderous chill.
…
Nuoding City, Nuoding Academy.
Yu Xiaogang calmly packed his luggage.
He was heading to Soto City, and just thinking of his disciple brought a smug look to his face.
He was extremely satisfied with that disciple.
"One day, those who mocked me will realize how extraordinary I am, and how outstanding my disciple truly is!"
He snarled as he shoved his clothes into the bag.
Ever since his plagiarism had been exposed six years ago, his life had gone downhill.
Everyone in Nuoding City looked down on him now. Whenever people mocked him, the only one standing by him was Tang San.
"So what if I got my research from somewhere else? I'm still the one who compiled and published it!" Yu Xiaogang muttered to himself, utterly unaware of his faults.
Fifteen minutes later, he left the Nuoding Academy he had stayed in for years. No one came to see him off.
He casually hailed a carriage and set off toward Soto City.
…
The next night.
Yu Xiaogang arrived at a roadside inn.
He was still some distance from Soto City and planned to rest here for the night.
After greeting the staff and checking in, he went upstairs.
Outside, on a large tree beside the inn, a pitch-black crow sat motionless, its crimson eyes fixed on Yu Xiaogang as he entered.
In another room of the inn, Luo Ling suddenly looked up from boredom, a sinister grin twisting his face. "Finally, you're here."
…
Reaching his second-floor room, Yu Xiaogang glanced outside through the corridor's glass window.
The dim official road was dotted with a few flickering lights. Just as he turned to leave, his gaze froze on a tree beyond the window—where a crow stared directly at him.
Its crimson eyes followed his every movement.
Yu Xiaogang frowned. How could a crow be here, in a place like this?
Curious, he stepped closer to the window, but when he looked again, the crow had vanished.
"Flew away?" he murmured, shaking his head before entering his room.
Moments after he closed the door, a crow reappeared on the windowsill, its gaze locked on the door through the glass.
Outside, thunder rumbled faintly, and soon, heavy rain poured down.
In the hallway, Luo Ling's figure gradually materialized. The crow outside flew in through the window, landing quietly on his shoulder.
In his hand was a book, the four blood-red words on the cover reading — "Blood Demon Ritual."
